Chapter twenty-six: The dinner

I woke up late, because of staying out so late. Hermione is leaving for Christmas break today to spend the holiday with her family but Ron and Harry will still be here. Hermione leaves after lunch. She walked into my room all smiley.
Hermione-"You disappeared last night, I want to know everything!"
Y/N-"Sit here" I patted the spot next to me on my bed. "Last night was great, When we disappeared Draco took me to this little treehouse in the forest and well...we did it."
Hermione-"You did!? Were you ready?"
Y/N-"Yeah I was more than ready"
Hermione-"That's good. How was it??"
Y/N-"It was perfect. I thought it would hurt but it wasn't so bad."
Hermione-"Awee that's great! Weren't you cold?"
Y/N-"Well we kind of created our own heat"
Hermione-"Y/N!!!!"
Y/N-"Sorry" I laughed and so did she. "It was slightly cold but the candles also really helped. How was your night with Ron?"
Hermione-"Really really good, he was wonderful"
Y/N-"That's good"
Fred & George-"Who's wonderful?" Hermione looked startled and she didn't know what to say.
Y/N-"You guys of course"
George-"Harry and Ron are wondering..."
Fred-"If you're coming to lunch"
Hermione-"Yes we're coming"
At the lunch table:
Harry-"Y/N, how was your night?"
Y/N-"It was great." I looked down really fast. I had an awkward look on my face and I could tell they all noticed.
Ron-"Tell us about it"
Y/N-"Oh you know...dancing, laughing, eating, having sex in the forbidden forest..normal...school dance things." I kept looking at my fork.
Harry-"I'm sorry what?..."
Ron-"Bloody hell Y/N really?" I looked up with just my eyes.
Harry-"You and Malfoy..."
Y/N-"Had sex, yes we did okay now can we talk about something else please" I said as more of a statement than a question.
Fred and George-"Awesome" Ron sneered at them.
Hermione-"Harry why don't you tell Y/N that joke you told last night.?"
Harry's POV.
Last night. When Malfoy violated our innocent Y/N. Y/N was out messing around with Draco and I was telling jokes. He makes me sick, I hate that. I did have a lot of fun with Ginny but, It's Y/N I'm talking about here. I never would have thought.
Back your POV.
Ron-"Harry?"
Harry-"Hm?"
Ron-"Harry are you alright?"
Harry-"Yeah I'm brilliant. I just forgot to do something. I'll see you guys later, Bye Hermione have a good Christmas" He gave her a hug.
Hermione-"Thanks Harry, you too" I felt terrible that he wasn't okay with this.
Hermione-"It's alright, He's going to get over it." I sighed
Y/N-"Yeah.." Time went on and it was time for Hermione to leave. Ron and I said bye to her and we played chess in the common room for a while. I saw Draco motion to me from across the room to follow him. "Ahh da*m, you won again."
Ron-"I'm just better than you"
Y/N-"It's okay to admit that I was letting you win Ronald." I said teasing him and we laughed. "I'll meet you and Harry in the common room later"
Ron-"Okay" I got up and followed Draco into the library.
Draco-"Hi sweetheart"
Y/N-"Hi" I said, blushing as he kissed my forehead.
Draco-"How'd you sleep?"
Y/N-"I slept good, how about you?"
Draco-"Pretty good actually, but I couldn't stop thinking about you"
Dracos POV.
I grabbed her hand and we walked into the library. She makes me tingle all over. But there is still a part of me that's worried for her. I haven't forgotten Clarisse Clermonts visits at Malfoy Manor and how she has it out for Y/N. But I'll do whatever it takes to protect her.

Y/N-"I couldn't stop thinking about you either"
Draco-"I know it's a day late but, Merry Christmas" he said as he handed me another little box.
Y/N-"Draco!! You didn't have to do this" He smiled at me. It was a small silver 'D' charm.
Draco-"It's for your charm bracelet. I know it's silver, unlike your bracelet but I thought it could stand out like you do"
Y/N-"Thank you so much I love it" I gave him a kiss and pulled out a gift too. "This ones for you" he took it and opened it and smiled right away.
Draco-"A silver star pin." It represented last night. When we looked out of that tree house the sky was painted with stars.
Y/N-"I know it's kind of lame and embarrassing to wear but..." he placed his hand on mine and shook his head.
Draco-"It's perfect, thank you darling"
Y/N-"You're welcome Draco, Merry Christmas."
Draco-"Are you staying in the castle for the Holidays?"
Y/N-"Yeah, my parents are going on some trip for work and the rest of my family is out as well. I could go but there wouldn't be anyone there. Are you going home?"

Draco-"Yeah, father wants me there..but I wanted to ask you if you'd like to have dinner with us? I know I've asked before but I've finally got my parents to agree and since you trust me now, maybe you'll change your mind?"
Y/N-"I'd love to go" his face lit up. Sure I wanted to go, dinner sounds nice but honestly I'm rather terrified of his family. His Father to be exact. Such a bitter man. I used to think Draco was bad but he's changed in a way. I don't think Lucius Malfoy will ever change.
Draco-"I leave in about two ours. I'll pick you up outside of your common room."
Y/N-"Alright, I'll be waiting" and shitting my bloody pants.
Draco-"I love you"
Y/N-"I love you too" I was already beginning to shake. I ran to Gryffindor common room and was quietly panicking.
Ron-"Y/N what's happened?" Harry and Ron stood up from the couch. I looked around and there were other people in there.
Y/N-"Not here..follow me" we headed into my room.
Harry-"What is it?"
Y/N-"Uhm. Look Hermione isn't here and you guys are my best friends too. I know you don't like Draco but I could really use your help, If your willing to?"
Harry-"We're here for you Y/N, what's going on?"
Y/N-"Since Draco and I are dating now, he's asked me to have dinner with him."
Ron-"Well how bad could that be?"
Y/N-"At Malfoy Manor...with his parents."
Ron-"Oh." He gulped.
Y/N-"Well that reaction made me feel a lot better thanks Ron." I said sarcastically and sat on my bed.
Harry-"Look Y/N it's going to be fine. Surely I'd probably feel the way are feeling as well but if you really love Malfoy you can do this. I know you can okay you're so brave and respectful, granting Lucius Malfoy's not the nicest man in the world obviously, just be yourself and remember you're mainly there for Draco, not his parents."
Y/N-"Thank you Harry. Ron" I sneered at him and he looked scared. Harry gave me a hug and they left. I was rummaging through my wardrobe, not finding anything suitable for dinner. I grunted and threw a shirt across the room.
Ginny-"Ahh!!" I turned around to see it hit Ginny in the face. "What's going on in here?"
Y/N-"Oh I'm sorry Ginny! I'm just trying to find something nice to wear"
Ginny-"What's the occasion?"
Y/N-"Dinner at Malfoy Manor, yes I know I know. But I'm really struggling. Draco comes in nearly thirty minutes and I'm not even close to being ready. Hermione usually helps me with these things. I'm going mad"
Ginny-"I'll help you if you like?"
Y/N-"Really!?" She nodded her head. "That would be great thanks!"
Ginny-"Let's see what you've got." She started looking through the piles of clothes. "Hmmm"
Y/N-"See...nothing, nothing I have will meet the Malfoy's expectations" she had a thinking look on her face.
Ginny-"Hang on I think I've got something that could work. I'll be right back" she came back with a pretty long sleeve black dress. "This should do it". She handed it to me.
Y/N-"Oh Ginny it's so pretty, are you sure?"
Ginny-"Yes of course, I've only used it once a year ago and I don't think I will again..also it's too small on me now" she gave me a smile. "Here I'll zip you up" When the dress was on it fit my body well. Ginny was taller than me but she's grown since last year. The dress stopped below my knees and was comfortable. I'm glad she helped me, I miss Hermione already. I curled my hair and pinned half of it back with a diamond pin I got from my mother. I slipped on low black heels and put my snake earring in. I looked at my charm he got me and smiled. I waited outside of my common room for Draco, the nerves were still there.
Draco-"Hello Lovely!"
Y/N-"Hiya"
Draco-"You look stunning" he handed me a red rose.
Y/N-"You're so sweet, you look so nice" he was wearing an all black suit. Blimey he looked so good in all black. I love the way it makes his bright hair and shiny blue eyes pop. He kissed my lips for a minute and took my hand.
Draco-"Are you ready?"
Y/N-"Yeah, let me just put this rose in my room" I went in in quickly looked in the mirror. I hope I look okay.
Ron-"Wow you look amazing!"
Y/N-"You think so?"
Harry-"Yeah you do"
Ginny-"I'm glad it fits!!"
Harry-"Oh hi Ginny" he blushed.
Ginny-"Hi Harry"
Ron-"Enough flirting"
Y/N-"I have to go but wish me luck" I set the rose in a class cup and left.
All-"Good luck!" Fred and George smiled at me as I walked out.
Y/N-"Okay I'm ready"
Draco-"You're nervous" he said squeezing my hand.
Y/N-"How'd you know"
Draco-"Because I know you Y/N, and trust me anyone who's ever invited to my house gets nervous too. Sometimes even I do because I never know what to expect."
Y/N-"Well, thanks Draco that boosted my confidence, what ever would I do without you" I teased him.
Draco-"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to freak you out even more, you will be fine don't worry. I'll be there by your side."
Y/N-"Good because I'm not letting go of your hand" he chuckled. When we arrived he walked in , I didn't even notice my surroundings or if there was anyone else around. My ears rang and I was trying not to faint. He stopped me.
Draco-"Hey" he took my cheek in his hand and gave me a smile. "You're okay" I smiled back and he hugged me.
Lucius-"Draco!! Finally."
Narcissa-"Hello Draco how are you dear?"
Draco-"Great mother how are you?" She nodded her head as a way of avoiding the question. "Father" he shook his fathers hand and went in for an awkward hug. Narcissa kissed him on the cheek and looked at me.
Narcissa-"So, you're the perfect young lady Draco's told me about?"
Y/N-"Yes ma'am that's me, I'm Y/N it's nice to meet you" she shook my hand and gave me a half smile.
Lucius-"How nice" said his father with a small scoff. Draco look at me and then and the floor. I held out my hand and he shook it slightly.
Narcissa-"Please, sit" she said gesturing at the chairs. I saw her give her husband an annoyed look. Draco pulled the seat out for me and I sat down. Draco's awfully quiet. I can tell his parents intimidate him.
Narcissa-"So Y/N tell me, you're in Gryffindor?" I saw Lucius fidget in his seat as she said that.
Y/N-"Oh yes ma'am"
Narcissa-"And how did you too meet?"
Draco-"Mother please"
Narcissa-"What?"
Lucius-"Let your mother speak Draco"
Draco-"Sorry father"
Y/N-"Draco it's alright, really" I took his hand under the table. This entire time I thought that I was the nervous one, But I was wrong. Draco looked so, so haunted. It's almost like his soul left his body, and his body was just sitting there doing nothing. He wrapped his fingers around mine tightly. Tighter than usual and I caressed his hand with my thumb as a way to show him I'm here and he's going to be okay.
Y/N-"Draco and I became closer while working on a potions project together."
Narcissa-"Oh how...lovely" I smiled at her. The food came and we ate. His mother and I had small talk with Draco chiming in a couple of times. Lucius didn't make much sound but a couple of sighs here and there. After we ate I had to use the bathroom.
Dracos POV.
I didn't know how nervous I'd be. I hate that Y/N has to see me like this. So depressed. I wish I could talk more but the words just won't come out.
Lucius-"Alright it's time now."
Narcissa-"Lucius he's just a boy, let him be"
I looked up with curiosity.
Lucius-"There's something we need from you Draco."
Draco-"Of course Father."
Lucius-"Your little friend seems to be in the way of something."
Draco-"What do you mean?"
Lucius-"No details. We need you to get rid of her." I looked over to my mother and she was playing with her food with the fork pretending not to listen.
Draco-"Get rid of my girlfriend?..."
Lucius-"Draco you're not thinking straight ever since she's came into your life, she's effecting your duties."
Draco-"Duties that are wrong"
Lucius-"What did you say to me?"
Draco-"Nothing father"
Lucius-"You will kill Y/N do you understand?"
Draco-"But I-"
Lucius-"Its who we are Draco, It's what we do, It's what you do." I don't want to do this anymore I can't.
Draco-"May I please be excused it's late.?" My mother shook her head letting me leave. Tears filled in my eyes. I can't hurt her I can't lose her. I won't do this I'm not going to. I walked the halls of the house looking for her.
Back to your POV.
I walked out of the bathroom to hear tiny footsteps...curious, I follow them.
Y/N-"Ohh!! Dobby hello"
Dobby-"What is Y/N doing in Masters home?"
Y/N-"Just trying to survive the night" I joked.
Dobby-"Dobby has to go, Dobby doesn't want to get Y/N into trouble"
Y/N-"Can't you talk?"
Dobby-"Dobby mustn't talk right now" I bent down and looked at his hands, bandages covered his fingers.
Y/N-"Did he do this to you?, Lucius.. did he hurt you?"
Dobby-"Dobby must not answer" I kissed Dobby on the forehead and gave him a sympathetic smile. I heard larger footsteps getting closer, Doppy snapped his fingers and vanished. I stood up and Draco instantly wrapped his arms around me and started to cry. I held him tightly and rubbed his back.
Y/N-"Draco what's wrong!?" I asked him as he cried on my shoulder. He didn't say a word. After a moment he looked at me. His face was all red and his eyes were filled with tears.
Draco-"Can we please just get the hell out of here."
Y/N-"Yes of course." I understand that he didn't want to talk about it. "Hogwarts?"
Draco-"Anywhere but here." If he didn't want to be around his family, surely he didn't want to be around our classmates. I took him to my home. No one would be there so it's perfect. We got into the den and I put on the fire place. He sat on the couch and it was like he was staring into a different dimension. I wrapped a blanket over him.
Y/N-"I'll make some tea"
I went into the kitchen and started to prepare the drinks. I looked over at him and he was in the same position. I feel awful. I wonder what's happened.
Y/N-"Hey Hibou" I said to our families owl petting him on the head. (Hibou is the French word for a male owl) He was brown and white with gorgeous yellow eyes. As the tea was heating up I wrote a letter to Harry, asking him to take care of my cat for the night and then I sent Hibou off. The kettle whistled and I let it cool. Draco was still stiff. I walked over and set his cup down.
Y/N-"Here you are darling" I sat next to him and placed my hand on his leg. "You must be uncomfortable to sleep in those clothes?"
Draco-"Wheres the toilet?"
Y/N-"It's just there" I pointed down the hall. He stood up and walked to the bathroom. I sighed. I found some of my older brothers old clothes and waited for him to come out.
Y/N-"You can put these on if you like. I know they aren't really designer but.." He took them and started to undress. He handed me his suit and I folded it up and put it in my room. I came back out and we sat on the couch. He finished his tea and yawned.
Draco-"Thank you for the clothes"
Y/N-"It's no problem at all"
Draco-"Sorry I'm acting so weird"
Y/N-"That's alright I understand"
Dracos POV.
She doesn't understand.
Back to your POV.
Y/N-Do you want to sleep?" He nodded his head. "If you like I can take my parents room and you can take mine, if you want space"
Draco-"No I want you there with me"
Dracos POV.
Space from her is the very last thing I ever want. I don't want to let her out of my sight. Just look at how well she's treating me. Shes brought me into her home, which is lovely by the way. Made me tea and got me clothes.
I love her.
Back to your POV.
Y/N-"Okay then my room?"
Draco-"Yes, I really like your home by the way..it's lovely."
Y/N-"Thank you Draco" we walked into my room. "This is mine" he smiled and shook his head yes.
Draco-"It looks like your room" we got under the covers and I blew out the candle. "Goodnight Y/N I love you."
Y/N-"I love you too, Sleep well."
