Chapter sixteen: "Emma"

Authors POV.
The next day. Owlrey:
Charlotte-"I can't believe it worked mum we did it!!"
Clarisse-"Yes. I know I'm brilliant.."
Charlotte-"Well uhm..actually it was my ide—-"
Clarisse-"Now." She cut her daughter off. "Try and get closer to Draco. Make him feel like it was an accident. That you feel absolutely terrible... but wait a few days."
Charlotte-"Alright."

A couple of days went by and Y/N was still unconscious. Her friends would visit every morning and night. When it got late...and when Hermione left, Draco would sneak in and talk to her. Even though she couldn't hear him he lied to himself and pretended that she could.
He watched Hermione leave and headed In and sat with her.
Draco-"Hey Y/n..." he put a smile on for himself. "We passed our project...And Slytherin won the last quidditch match." He tried not to tear up. "I've brought a book I thought I'd read it to you." He read to her for a while and then left when it got late. He went to take a walk outside and saw something on the ground on the quidditch field. It was Y/N's scarf from the day she fell. He lifted it up to his face and exhaled hard. He carried it in his pocket to her dorm and snuck into her room. Flash backs instantly flooded into his brain. From when they made jokes to when they complimented each other without even knowing. Her room smelled like her and he sat on her bed. Looking down he saw her bag with a book half fallen out of it. There was a bookmark in one of the pages and he read the book title. "Emma" by Jane Austen. There was a quote underlined and he read it out loud. "One half of the world cannot understand the pleasures of the other" the general meaning of this quote is the difference between men and women but Draco new that's not why she underlined. He looked down at his Slytherin ring and looked up at all of her Gryffindor merchandise and smiled. He knew it was about him and her. He set her scarf on her dresser with the book and left.
