Chapter fourteen: The Letter

I've been waiting for so long in the library and he hasn't shown up. Soon after, his owl comes and gives me a letter. I read it : "Dear Y/N, I don't think we should hang out anymore. I'm sorry but we just don't make sense...Malfoy. X"
I felt ringing in my ears. I can't believe this. After how he treated me he's going to tell me something like that like this. Why am I even surprised. My lip starts to quiver and tears pour onto the table. I ran back to my Dormitorie so fast. Ron, Harry and Hermione were sitting on the couch and I ran past them into my room and plopped onto my bed continuing to cry into my pillow.
Hermione-"What's the matter Y/N!?"
Harry-"What's happened!"
Y/N-"As if you really care!" I shouted and sat up.
Ron-"Of course we care Y/N tell us what's happened." I gave them the note and they read it.
Y/N-"I'm so sorry I didn't believe you guys I'm so stupid I feel ridiculous what was I thinking."
Hermione-"You were thinking that you liked someone. And that someone liked you back. You thought he could change because you had hope and you bring out the good in people. You aren't stupid."
Ron-"Yeah he's the stupid one."
Harry-"We should have been there for you Y/N we are so sorry"
Ron-"Yeah" they both looked so disappointed in themselves and they all hugged me.
Y/N-"Thank you. I know you meant well I forgive you." I gave Hermione a smile. Hermione and I watched Ron and Harry play chess and we all sat by the fire talking when there was a knock.
Blaise-"Hey.."
Hermione-"What do you want!" She snapped at him.
Blaise-"Uhm well I'm here for Y/N. Draco wanted me to tell her that.."
Harry-"Tell Malfoy that she got his letter. And he can piss off."
Ron-"Yeah, she doesn't need to hear it again from his friend."
Blaise-"Oh...Why would he tell me to if he already sent a letter"
Hermione-"Oh just leave!."
Blaise-"Alright jeez. bye then."
My eyes started to tear up. What is wrong with him I can't believe him.
Y/N-"I'm going to go to sleep." My friends hugged me and I went In the shower and turned the hot water all the way up and just cried. When I got out I got changed and went to sleep.

The next morning...Friday.
I woke up and changed into my uniform putting my hair half up. My eyes where so red from last night and I put a little concealer on to cover it up but it didn't do much. I went down to the common room and my friends waited for me.
Ron-"Good morning Y/N how are you feeling?"
Y/N-"I'm alright I guess"
Harry-"You can tell us the truth Y/N"
Y/N-"Fine. I'm devastated but I don't really want to talk about it."
Hermione-"We completely understand." Hermione said sneering at Ron and Harry like she was telling them to stop. "Let's go to breakfast"
Harry-"Are you coming to the quidditch game tomorrow?"
Y/N-"Well..."
Ron-"We know Malfoy will be there so we understand if you don't want to."
Y/N-"For you guys I will. Plus I want to see you beat Slytherins a*s" I let out a giggle.
Hermione-"Me too!" We all laughed. We spent the day talking and i tired to forget about Draco. But then we had potions. I sat down in my chair and I could see platinum blonde hair walking by out of the corner of my eye. He sat down in his chair. We watched people's presentations for a while and then...
Snape-"Mr. Malfoy and Miss Y/L/N. please come up to the front and present. I will give you a couple of moments to get ready."
We got up to the front and set out our things.
Draco-"Hey. Look I'm sorry I didn't show up to go over this but I thought we were pretty ready. Plus I sent Blaise to tell you that.."
Y/N-"That you rather talk to someone else than me?"
Draco-"What...no I.."
Snape-"Alright you may start"
Draco started first and I couldn't stop myself from shaking because I was so mad. How dare he say sorry. We finished our project and Draco kept looking at me so confused.
Draco-"I think we did pretty well?"
Y/N-"You're kidding right?"
Draco-"Huh?"
I yelled out in front of the class room.
Y/N-"HOW COULD YOU"
Draco-"How could I what??"
Y/N-"You just sent me that letter and pretend like nothing happened. And then you sent your friend to remind me of it."
Draco-"Letter? Y/N. What letter..?" I took it out of my pocket and handed it to him.
Draco-"What I didn't send you this..."
Y/N-"Really then who did. Blaise?"
Draco looked at him and he shook his head.
Draco-"I told you to tell her i was sick"
Blaise-"I tried but she said she already got the letter."
Draco-"I didn't send that. Charlotte must have"
Y/N-"So you were with her." I shouted.
Draco-"Yes but.."
Y/N-"Wait a minute. You were going to tell me that you were sick. So that you could skip our practice presentation for HER." I looked at her and she was smiling.
Draco-"You don't understand Y/N...she was just...looking for a friend to talk to."
Y/N-"I don't wanna hear anymore lies from you I'm done. I can't believe you were going to lie to me you could have told me the truth in the first place. I can't do this anymore Draco!!"
Draco-"Fine!!!! you're dead to me already!"
Y/N-"What."
Draco-"Yeah you heard me. I never should have made you pick my name it's the biggest mistake I ever made." I didn't know what to say
Draco-"Oh so now youve got nothing to say!?Well at least I know why you were so annoyed with me" he laughs.
Y/N-"Shut up."
Draco-"What's it matter to you anyway.?"
Y/N-"BECAUSE YOU LET ME FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU!"
everyone's jaw dropped so wide. except for his. He stood there speechless but his eyes widened and only his lips parted, I watched him exhale like he was holding his breath forever. "You know what..here." I threw my ring at the ground. "You can have it I don't want it anymore." I ran so fast I didn't even know where I was running to. All I know is I wasn't going to stop.

I ran so far until I stopped at the edge of the forbidden forest. I fell to my knees catching my breath. The cold air was hitting my skin but it felt nice. We're definitely losing house points because of this. I finally catch my breath and start to cry. I can't believe he actually said I'm dead to him. My heart was breaking. I didn't even realize how much I cared for him until now. I basically told him that I love him and he didn't even say anything back. He wants me dead. I looked over to the spot where I layed on his lap when he brought me out here. How he looked into my eyes and how that could've been one of the times I went soft for him. How could I let myself fall for him. I didn't think it was a mistake. I just think that he's scared to tell me the truth.
Hagrid-"Y/N?"
I jumped. And turned up at Hagrid.
Hagrid-"What are you doing there on the ground?" He gave me his hand and helped me up.
Y/N-"I was just...getting some air Hagrid thanks."
He looked at my eyes. I bet it it was so red from the tears.
Hagrid-"Blimey! have you been crying? What's the matter?"
Y/N-"It's just...Dumb luck."
Hagrid-"Come on..let's go inside and get you warmed up." we walked into his house and he handed me some tea and I sipped it slowly and wrapped a blanket around myself. The hot felt good on my throat.
Hagrid-"Now what's this about dumb luck?"
I told him all about Draco and the argument.
Hagrid-"You don't have to feel dumb Y/N. You just have a good heart. That boy doesn't deserve someone like you. It will get better. As long as you have Harry,Ron and Hermione by your side, you'll be fine" he smiled at me.
Y/N-"Thanks Hagrid." I smiled at him and he walked me up to school. I looked into the Great Hall and saw everyone eating dinner. Fu*k that. I started to walk back to my room as I was stopped by Professor McGonagall.
Professor McGonagall-"Miss Y/L/N. Please follow me." I sighed.
Y/N-"Yes ma'am" I followed her to Professor Dumbledores office. I looked up from the ground to see Draco sitting in one of the chairs with Snape and his father as well.
Professor McGonagall-"Now, would any of you care to explain what happened today in potions class?" We both stayed silent.
Snape-"Y/N started raising her voice.....and Mr Malfoy fought back....what I told you is exactly what happened..."
McGonagall-"Nothing to say..the both of you?" I looked at him and looked down. "Fine. Then 10 points from Slytherin and Gryffindor will be taken."
Lucius-"That's ridiculous Dracos done nothing wrong. It was all the girls fault. Clearly she started it."
Dumbledore-"We stand by our statement. Im sorry Severus. You kids are excused."
I walked out so fast and as soon as I was out of the office I ran to my room so Draco couldn't get the chance to talk to me. He didn't even try to defend me. When I got back my friends were all asleep accept for Harry. He was sitting in the common room reading.
Harry-"Y/N!! Are you alright. What am I saying of course you're not." I didn't say anything I just threw my arms around him and started to cry again.
Harry-"It's going to be okay Y/N I promise. We are here for you." He hugged me tightly.
Y/N-"Thanks Harry" he looked down at my lips for a second and my stomach dropped.
Y/N-"Uhm so I should get to sleep"
Harry-"Yeah you need it. And if you don't want to come to the game tomorrow we will understand again."
Y/N-"No I'll be there. I'll see you in the morning Harry. Goodnight "
Harry-"Goodnight."
That was strange.
