brinnley quickly put on sweatpants and a hoodie, which happened to be zach's, and ran downstairs to put on her shoes.
"where are you going?" clara asked the girl.
"just outside, zach told me to go out so if i'm murdered or kidnapped you know why" brinnley told clara causing the girl to nod.
brinnley walked outside to see zach waiting on the porch bench by the door, once he heard her walk out he looked up at her but furrowed his eyebrows.
"is that my hoodie?" zach asked causing the girl to nod in response. "when did you get that?"
"amara's house, you brought a hoodie with you and stupidly put it down next to me so i snatched it and you just didn't notice" brinnley told him shrugging.
zach slowly nodded, "well am i going to get it back?"
"aw that's cute you actually asked that question like there was a chance i would say yes" brinnley said. "but besides that, why did you summon me?"
"so i know you don't just play guitar and you also like to mess around with producing songs and you like write and stuff so-"
"wait what? who told you that because i know i didn't tell you since i don't like talking about it" brinnley asked.
"evelyn was really drunk at the party" zach said honestly. "but why didn't you tell me you write and like to produce music?"
"like i said, i don't like talking about it" brinnley said causing zach to tilt his head at her. "it requires attention and i like to avoid that"
"okay but you could've told me" zach said walking up to her.
"you would want to hear some of the songs and i didn't want to show them to anyone, the only people who have ever seen them are amara and evelyn"
zach stood there looking at her for a moment. "then let's change that"
"what- zach no!" brinnley yelled as she watched the boy run into her house in a hurry and closed the door behind him locking brinnley out.
"hey clara! where does brinn keep her secret song stuff?" zach asked clara quickly.
"in her room bottom shelf, there is a safe but it is password protected" clara told him.
"a safe really?" zach said as clara nodded. "okay i'll figure it out, thanks c" he said while running upstairs.
"no problem! i expect a chocolate milkshake in payment!" clara yelled at the boy.
zach quickly ran downstairs and threw the keys to his car to the younger girl. "i got you one on the way here it's in the cup holder in my car"
"yes! this is why you're my favorite!" clara told him.
"i know!" zach yelled running back up to brinnley's room.
clara skipped to the front door and opened it, once she did brinnley sped past her but turned around to look at clara first.
"did you tell him where i hide my songs?" brinnley asked the girl.
"yup and i got a chocolate milkshake out of it haha suckerrr" clara said running away before brinnley could hit her.
brinnley groaned and ran up to her room. "zachary dean herron if you don't get away from that safe right now i will bark at you"
"really? bark at me? that's all you got" zach stated as he sat on her bed calmly confusing the girl. "brinn i was messing with you i wouldn't go through your songs, writing is a vulnerable thing and they can be very private so if you were to show me that's on your terms"
brinnley smiled, "thank you z, i appreciate it" zach gave her a small smile in return as she narrowed her eyes at him. "you just couldn't get the safe open could you"
"no i couldn't get the stupid safe open! what the hell kind of password is protecting it? because i tried everything with my name and it kept sayin wrong"
brinnley started laughing as she sat down next to him on the bed, "i hate you, you are such a narcissist oh my god"
"a narcissist that got you a producing job" zach told her. brinnley shot her head towards him raising her eyebrows. "it's with me and the guys, you get to help us with a song"
"yeah no, thank you, but no" brinnley told him.
"what? what do you mean no?" zach asked sitting in front of the girl on the bed. "i know you hate attention so that's probably why you are saying no, but it's literally just us, you know us"
"yes but this is a song y'all are going to release to millions of fans and i can't have that pressure or attention on me"
"brinn the only way you are going to get over this fear is if put yourself out there, trust me the guys and i wouldn't of begged randy to let you do this if we didn't believe in you" zach told her taking her hand.
"y'all have literally never heard anything of mine so what if i'm not good? then what?" brinnley asked.
zach shrugged, "we will replace you then" brinnley looked sad but nodded slowly. "or it will be a really crappy song i'm proud of because you got over your fear and produced it"
brinnley looked at him, "wow you suck at advice and comforting people herron"
"yeah i've been told that one before" he said laughing. "but please tell me you'll work with us"
brinnley thought about it for a minute. "if no one likes it, it's on you z"
"i'm okay with that, so is that a yes?" zach asked grinning.
"it's a yes"
"OH HELL YEAH" zach yelled jumping up and down on brinnley's bed. "okay i'll tell everyone you said yes and i'll let you know when you can get started"
"okay" brinnley said oddly calm sitting crisscross on her bed.
zach stopped jumping on the bed, grabbed the remote from her nightstand, laid down on her bed and patted on the space next to him for her to lay.
"i know mamma mia calms you down when you're nervous, and you are obviously nervous, so cuddle me please and let's watch the movie" zach told her.
"yay! wait cuddle? we haven't done that when watching mamma mia" brinnley stated tilting her head.
"oh okay it was just a suggestion but if you don't want to then-"
brinnley interrupted zach's statement by quickly wrapping her arms around him causing zach to do the same and start playing with her hair until they both fell asleep.
