Chapter 1 - The boy in the tree

Lucy's POV

"Are we nearly there yet" I asked anyone who would listen

"Stop complaining, it will take as long as needed to get there" replied Erza

"Yeah, we don't even know where the hideout is" Gray said

"Then why did we even come here" I asked again still complaining

"Why not" Erza was also trying to stay calm, but in reality she had no idea either

"I don't know, it just seems like a waste of time"

"Well you know Lucy we gotta start somewhere and this is the only area that makes sense" Gray was trying to reassure me.

Someone from the magic council come into the guild earlier, wanting someone to investigate rumours about Zeref being around the area, and unfortunately Makarov the master of the guild volunteered us for the job. So where out here in the middle of the forest looking for a hideout that may or may not be here. Lucky us.

Erza's POV

We were walking south because that was the way that the magic council men said that was where magic traces had been left.
As we were walking along, I noticed a boy laying down in a tall tree "how strange" I thought to myself. In a the middle of nowhere there was a boy who looked around our age, had pink spiked hair, was wearing a long black vest, white pants, and sandals (what he usually wears without the scarf)

"Hey you, up in the tree" I pointed to him, Lucy and Gray gave me odd looks as they looked to where I was pointing
"Do you know who Zeref is?" I asked him

The boy opened his eyes and looked down at us, he honestly looked surprised that there where other people in this part of the forest

"who doesn't know who he is, he's quite infamous is he not, being the Black wizard and all" he replied though it seems that he wasn't into the conversation all that much

"Oh right, well do you know where his hideout is, we're looking for it" I asked he still wasn't paying much attention to us though

"Why would you go looking for the Black wizard?" the boy was clearly just curious so I felt the need to answer him

"We're on a mission to track him down and report it to the magic council, we're in a guild you see" the boy didn't look to impressed when I mentioned the magic council, but I'll just encore it. It took the boy awhile to answer back to us, but all he did was point in a direction, so I'll take that he knows where it is.

"Thank you, come on you two we'll be on our way" Gray and Lucy just nodded and followed.

The boy's POV

"So your looking for Zeref Huh" he smirked " I guess I'll go tell him about our guests"

Gray's POV

We kept walking and walking and walking until we came to a stop

"Why are we stoping Erza?" I asked

"Because I believed we've arrived" Erza pointed at a mansion, however it looked abandoned

"Um are you sure, cuz it looks like nobodies been here for a while" Lucy was right I'm sure even Erza agrees with that

"Yes I am aware of that, but that is why it is the perfect place to look, why would anyone go into an abandoned building in the middle of the forest" I guess Erza's theory made sense

"Very well let's proceed" Erza and Lucy agreed, we we all went into the mansion.
It was dark, there were lights but they're not very bright, the hall was massive it had many rooms but not all of them were unlocked. We kept walking for what seems like forever until we came to a room that the door was already opened, we stuck our heads inside to have a look, being cautious because this was Zeref's hideout.
The room looked normal it had a bed under the window, drawers next to the bed and a dart board with a human being pined up to it

"How cruel" Lucy said putting both her hands up to her mouth

"Zeref will pay for this, I swear" I agreed with Erza. We continued on following the main hall occasionally I would stop just to see if I could open doors and start thinking of a plan how how to catch the Black wizard if we were to run into him. Eventually we came to a door at the end of the hall, it wasn't like all the other doors, it was bigger and it had double doors so we kinda just took a guess and say that this was the room in which Zeref was in, nerve racking.
Before we had any time to make a plan Erza kicked the double doors open "she's so reckless" I thought to myself, so we kinda just charged in and there he was.
A male figure with black hair and a black robe was sitting on a chair, that looked like a throne, and standing next to him was the boy from before

"ZEREF!!! We are hear to take you into custody" Zeref didn't look very pleased that Erza had just said all that, suddenly he stood up from his royal throne and started chanting something
"slepp um til mormóna ágúst yfir rýrð dó mót æskan Dór í vonandi tíu"
During the entire time that he was muttering to himself I was feeling a little sleepy, and I could tell that the other two were as well. Soon after we all fell unconscious.

3rd person POV

The members of the Fairy Tail party slowly regained consciousness to find themselves in a cell unaware of the way they were placed in there. They were not chained up but they could not use any magic because of the sealstone that the bars were made out of. Confused on how they got to be in such a predicament, they were being supervised by the boy with the pink hair who was paying no attention to them whatsoever

"Hey you" the boy was paying no attention to Erza's talk "why did you lie to us like that, and you should know that working for him is only going to leave you in a whole lot of trouble"

He opened one of his eyes and turned his head towards the cell, he was debating whether or not he should engage himself in the conversation with the prisoners, but he was bored so he decided to answer them to ease that boredom, so he closed his eyes once agin and began to speak

"Firstly, I didn't lie to you, since you only asked whether or not I had heard of him before, you never asked if I had a relationship with him. Secondly I don't work for him, we're related, and thirdly it's usually the other demons who get us into trouble so don't blame him or I" as he turned back around and started to ignore them again Erza felt humiliated, as Lucy and Gray watched her cry herself into the corner of the cell something came over their thoughts

"Zeref isn't supposed to have any family alive, I mean no human except for himself could live for hundreds of years, that would be impossible" Lucy was sure of that, the boy opened his eyes but did not turn to make contact with the prisoners, he wanted to make them stop talking however he and the other demons were given strict orders not to kill these three. Since Zeref had other plans for them.

"Safe to say that pinky isn't really interested in your conversation" he turned his head towards the cell and gave the ice wizard a glare, he didn't like it when anyone made fun of his hair colour, it's not his fault he was born with pink hair. Over a minute past and his glaring was suddenly interrupted by a voice screaming from down the hall
"YO MASTER , YOU BETTER NOT BE GETTING SOFT ON ME, IF YOU ARE I'LL COME AND RIP YOUR THROAT OUT"
The boys attention subsided from the inmates and turned towards the voice which he was irritated with. The Fairy Tail members also turned to where the voice was. The closer he got the more visible he became until he was completely visible.

"What do you want Jackal?" The boy asked
"Huh? Isn't it obvious, I came to replace you, you see it's MY turn to play with the humans and I'm gonna make sure we have LOTS OF FUN" he was grinning but it wasn't a pleasant grin, it was more of a sadistic grin, knowing that it made Lucy uncomfortable Jackal noticed that this made her uncomfortable and he was eyeing her off giving her the 'and your going first' look. Gray saw what was going on and went in front of Lucy, Jackal resented this and snarled. 'Your a moron' the boy thought and got up from his chair and stared walking away
"oh Jackal"
"Huh?"
"Don't have to much fun" as the boy said that he glanced over at the three fairies and walked away leaving them with Jackal "now your all MINE"
