It had been about two weeks since Dumbledore announced the Yule ball. There were three weeks until it actually happened.

A couple different guys asked me to the Yule ball but I declined, They weren't my type. Every time they did when Fred was around his face would go cold and angry. If he didn't want other people to ask me he needs to apologize and grow a pair and ask me himself.

Another couple of days went by and Fred still hadn't asked me. It was now Friday and we were going to Hogsmead that Sunday so I kind of needed to know who my date was so he could get a tie that matched my dress.

Cedric and I were sitting in class, when I said "I can't believe Fred hasn't apologized yet. It's getting old." "That sucks, I'm sorry." Cedric responded. "I need to get a date by this Sunday, so we can get a matching tie and dress like I've always wanted." I said.

"Well, seeing as how you don't have a date yet, and I don't want to go through the stress of trying to get someone to go with me, would you wanna go with me? You know as friends?" He asked. "Wow, what's way to be asked to a ball." I said sarcastically. He looked guilty. "But yes, we can go as friends. That will be fun." I said.

"Great. So we'll go to Hogsmead together than? To get a matching tie and dress?" He asked. "Yeah, well I'll pick out my dress with friends. That might take a while so you can hang out with your friends during that. Then when I'm done we can meet up and get your tie." I said.

"I have no say in the color?" He asked jokingly. "Don't worry, it won't be an ugly color." I said. "I know." He laughed. We finished class and walked to the great hall.

Cedric walked to his friends and I sat with mine. Only Hazel and Jordan were there. "Where are the boys?" I asked. "I dunno they said they had a prank to plan or something." Said Jordan.

"Ok, well good because I needed to tell you two something anyway." I said. "What is it?" Asked Hazel. "I got a date." I sung. "Who?" Asked Jordan excitedly. "Well, we're just going as friends but Cedric." I said. "Awesome." Said Jordan.

"Yeah, we both didn't have dates so he asked if we could go as friends." I said. Just then someone walked up behind Hazel and talked her on the shoulder.

We looked up and it was Sam, the girl she talked about earlier. "Hey." She said. "Hi, can you come with me for a second?" He asked holding out his hand. "Sure!" She said as she took his hand.

I looked at Jordan and she had a huge smirk on her face. She noticed me looking at her so I gave her a confused look. "What?" She asked. "Hazel and Sam haven't even looked at each other before. The. She mentions him to us and only us and all the sudden he's asking her. Did you have something to do with this?" I asked.

"Maybe." She said. "C'mon." She said smiling as she got up. We followed where Hazel and Sam had walked. When we turned the corner out of the great hall.

We saw hearts floating above Hazel and Sam. Everyone was watching. Sam handed her a rose and said "I've liked you for a while now and I finally got the courage to do something about it. So, without further adu, will you accompany me to the Yule ball?" He asked. "Yes!" She squealed.

"Wicked." He said. They hugged and Hazel walked over to us. "Congratulations!" I said as we hugged her. "I'm so exited for the ball!" She said. "Me too!" Said Jordan. "Same!" I said.

We laughed and walked back to our meal.

It was now Saturday. We had eaten dinner and gotten ready for bed. I hadn't told the guys that Cedric and I were going yet, they had been busy doing Merlin knows what at every meal.
