The Second Task

It was the day of the second task. Cedric had told me it had something to do with the black lake and that the champions would need to breathe under water.

I immediately thought of the gilleweed but Cedric said he already had something better and that I would tell Harry. I forgot about Harry! After class that day I found Harry and told him about it.

Then that night the twins, Lee, and I snuck into Professor Snapes personal stash and stole some and gave it to Harry. But that was about three days ago.

My friends and I were now at breakfast excitedly talking about the task when McGonagall tapped me on my shoulder. Oh no! Had she found out it was me that took Snapes gilleweed?

"Y/N, would you come with me please?" She asked. I looked at the twins and they shrugged. "Yeah." I replied getting up. When we were out of the great hall I asked "Am I in trouble?" "No dear. We just need you to help out with the second task." She said. "Ok." I replied.

We went to Dumbledores office. Hermione, Ron, and Fluers little sister were already there. I made a whats-going-on? Face at Hermione and Ron but they didn't know either.

"You are going to be the insentive of this task. We will put you under a sleeping spell, where you can breathe under water and tie you down at the bottom of the black lake. The champions have to save you as their task." Said McGonagall.

I made a horrified face at Hermione and she sent one back. "Don't worry, it is perfectly safe for you. If the champion can't save you, we will fetch you." Said McGonagall noticing our faces.

"Line up please." She said. We all got into a line and stood facing her. "Are you ready?" She asked. "Y-yes." I said nervously. "No need to be nervous." She smiled at us. Then she waved her wand and muttered something.

The world around me went black and I went unconscious.

The next thing I knew my head broke the surface of water and I took a deep breath. I opened my eyes and heard cheating. I saw Cedric holding me and swimming towards the stands. Everyone was cheering or him.

We got to the stand and he lifted me onto it. I sat up and helped him up. "T-th- thank y-you." I said in between shivers. "No problem." He said smiling.

"So did you win?" I asked as someone handed me a towel. "Yeah he did. He's the first one up! Well besides Fluer, but's he didn't retrieve her person. " Said as a kid standing near us. Cedrics smile grew water. I gave him a big smile and wrapped my towel around me.

"Y/N!" I heard someone call. I recognized the voice and turned around. "Fred?" I called and saw him running towards me. He wrapped him arms around me and pulled me into a big hug.

"Hi Freddie." I said smiling. "Hi." He said laughing. "Your shivering so much someone would think your having a seizure." He said rubbing my arms to warm me up. "I am freezing." I said as my teeth chattered.

McGonagall came over and used a spell to dry me off. "Good job." She smiled. I nodded at her and went with Fred up to his seat in the stands. He had his sweater sitting on his chair. He picked it up and handed it to me. "Put this on, it's chilly." He said.

I put it on and sat on his lap. We watched the rest of the Task. Victor had come up when we were walking to our seats. "What is taking Harry so long?" I wondered out loud. "I dunno." Said Fred.

Our eyes searched the lake for any sign of Harry. Finally he came up, with Ron and Fluers's little sister. "Yes! Go Harry!" I yelled as everyone cheered and clapped.

The judges took a while to decide who got what place. I assume it was harder considering Harry saved two people, but he was last to come out. Dumbledore cleared his throat and then spoke.
