Best friends to PR - lando Norris

Winter testing

The rest of the winter break flew past and it's now February and we are in Barcelona for testing! I know Lando is absolutely buzzing to get back into the car, it's all he has been able to talk about for weeks. I've been back at the MTC since Mid January helping with the car reveal among other things and Lando has been back training since then as well. It's been a busy couple of months for us but it's also been enjoyable. We had decided to be professional at work and not disclose our relationship till the first race of the season but Lando is impatient and we agreed to let the world know during testing.

The biggest change this season is the fact the Daniel is now in our garage! It's been good fun getting to know him better as he has been at the MTC getting to know his team. We all miss Carlos but Daniel brings so much fun and joy with him it's been nice to see him settle into the team. The atmosphere at McLaren is very different to the other teams he has worked for we are family and he was been accepted with open arms. It will be interesting to see what this season holds for the team.

I'm currently in the garage chilling with the team whilst Lando does his stint in the car today. It's always interesting to see how the car has evolved since last season. I'm watching the screens when someone taps my shoulder "Hey smiles! How you going?" I look up to see Daniel, "Daniel!" I jump up and give him a hug, we aren't strangers we have been working in the same paddock for 4 seasons now! "I'm doing good! How are you starting to feel more like part of the team?" I question him "I'm finding my feet smiles" this nickname came from a comment from Will about the fact that I smile more than the smiling king himself. "Alright Avocado some of us need to do some work today" I nudge him and head to the hospitality area to get some admin done.

After 100 laps today Lando finally is able to get out of the car. He heads towards me "Mols! I've missed you today" I smile at him "more than you enjoyed being in that car?" He looks at me sheepishly "it's been a really great day I can't lie! But it's going to get better now" i laugh "don't get your hopes up Norris" I say whilst heading out of the garage. We are walking down the paddock when I spot George walking towards us "OI NORRIS, LANES" he shouts and everyone looks over "hello to you too George!" He runs over and gives me a hug "hands to yourself Russell" Lando mutters and George bursts out laughing "bit possessive there Lando" he glares at George whilst I crack up "did you just want to say hello?" I ask him "yeah pretty much, just gonna annoy you both while we are all here" Lando laughs. We head back to the hotel as it's been a long day for us both.

The next morning I'm first awake and I decide to get ready before disturbing Lando. I spent a little while in the shower panicking about telling everyone mainly due to fear of being judged, like I'm working my way through the paddock. I shake my head of these thoughts and finish getting dressed in my team kit. I head back into the bedroom and notice Lando is awake "Good morning love" I say as I walk over to give him a kiss. "Good morning baby, did you sleep okay?" I nod my head "I did what about you?" He smiles "so good! The car absolutely exhausts me! I have a training session with Jon this morning" I have a lot to get done today and I'm meeting Charlotte to get some joint media sorted for both drivers "that's okay I'm meeting Charlotte at 9 for breakfast and some work meetings" he nods his head "you work too much! Testing is supposed to be fun as well as productive" I roll my eyes at him "it's fun for you!" He giggles at my tone. He goes to get ready for training and I message Charlotte to confirm the plan. The group chat suddenly goes off

Albono - Morning guys, did we want to meet for pizza night?
GEOOOOORGE - I'm down, it is Friday after all!
Lechair - I'm always good for pizza night

I'm surprised Charles agreed he had been avoiding us a lot since the break up. We have spoken a couple of times since bumping into each other at Imola. I wait for Lando before I reply. After about 10 minutes he appears in the bedroom "you seen the group chat?" I nod my head "I wanted to wait for you till I replied" he looks at me worried "it's completely your choice, if you are worried about Leclerc then we won't go" I shook my head "I'm happy to go, can we make our relationship post today?" He grins at me "ready to share with everyone?" I look at him terrified "oh no! Sorry baby that's not what I meant! I have been dying not telling people!" I feel my heart rate slow down "I'm proud to be with you I'm just worried about people judgement, I don't want to be seen as working my way through the paddock" I feel myself getting upset, he quickly sits next to me and pulls me into a hug "we were inevitable Mols, this isn't anything new it just took it's time coming and I will make that clear if people say anything" I smile at him "thanks Lands, sorry for getting upset" he kisses my forehead "I love you" he tells me "I love you too"
