The First Look

Chapter 8

*Layla's POV*

I woke up to someone knocking on the door of the room I was staying in. I stumbled out of bed and opened the door

"What" I said half asleep

"My dad told me to tell you to get ready because we're going to breakfast" Said a Half asleep Cedric

Cedric was in sweatpants and a T-Shirt with messy hair

"Ok" I said yawning again

"I bet I can get ready faster" Cedric said

"Nope!" I said shutting the door in his face

I went over to my bag and picked out an outfit. I put on the black and white pants, gray shirt, and a sweater on with platform boots. I put my hair into a ponytail and ran to my bathroom to brush my teeth

Once I was done, I left the bathroom to see Cedric walking out of his room ready

"I finished before you" I said crossing my arms

"No I did" Cedric replied

"Nope! I finished before you because I-"

"Kids! Come on!" His Dad called

I ran towards the front door pushing Cedric out of the way. His dad opened the door and let me run through, Cedric not too far behind. We stood by the car shivering.

"Dad open the car!" Cedric said between shivers

Cedric's dad opened the car. Me and Cedric got in the back seat

-at breakfast-

Me and Cedric were on one side of the booth and his dad on the other. Cedric was talking about his friends at hogwarts

"And there's these two girls who are my best friends" Cedric said

"What's their names?" I asked

"Brianne and Lizzie" Cedric smiled "You would like them"

"Can I meet them?" I asked excited

"When we get back to school you can"

I nodded and started to eat my breakfast.

"Who are your friends Layla?" Cedric's dad asked me

"Not many people actually," I said "Two boys Harry and Ron, a girl Hermione, And Cedric, of course"

They both laughed

"What about Malfoy?" Cedric asked

"We aren't friends, Well I don't think so" I said

~Back at Cedric's house~

Cedric told me to go to his room when we got back. So, as we entered the house me and Cedric went to his room

"What did you want to show me Ced?"

"A picture of those two girls. Brianne and Lizzie" Cedric said opening the door to his room

I walked in after him. He grabbed a Polaroid picture and handed it to me

"This one is Brianne" He said pointing to a girl with long brown hair with light brown highlights. She had brown eyes. The girl was smiling, she had a beautiful smile, while hugging Cedric

"And that's Lizzie" Cedric said pointing to the girl with long curly blonde hair and blue eyes like mine. She was on the other side of Cedric, also smiling.

"They're both really pretty. I can't wait to meet them" I smiled

"See! I said you would like them" Cedric laughed

"Shut it" I replied

*Harry's POV*

Me, Hermione, and Ron just finished breakfast. As we were walking around the school Ron started a conversation

"It does get lonely without Layla here" Ron said

"Finally! Someone agrees with me!" I said

"We all agree Harry," Hermione said "You just are over dramatic with it"

I laughed and changed the subject. I didn't like talking about her because I would always get red whenever we did. As we were walking I saw Draco walking towards us. I thought we went home for Christmas? Draco walked up to us and stopped

"I see you lost your girlfriend, Potter" Draco said to me

"Layla isn't my girlfriend Malfoy" I replied

"Then where might she be?" Draco asked

"None of your business" Hermione said

"I wasn't talking to you, you filthy mudblood" Draco snapped

Ron took Hermione's hand and brought her somewhere

"You don't need to know where she is" I said

"I do" Draco said

"Why do you?" I added

"Tell me Potter before I find her myself"

"You won't be able to because she isn't here!" I snapped

"Getting defensive are we?" Draco laughed

"Why do you care so much about her Malfoy"

"No reason." Draco smirked

"Don't expect to find her anywhere around here" I said before walking away

I ran to the common room. I said the password and walked in. Ron was comforting Hermione, who was crying. I ran over and hugged Hermione

"I'm sorry that happened" I said while hugging her

"It's alright Harry" Hermione said

~Two Hours later~

We were talking in the courtyard hoping not to see Draco again. Hermione started to get cold so we walked inside and just went around the whole school. There weren't a lot of people outside of the common rooms. I saw Draco walk into the Slytherin common room. I let out a sigh of relief

"You alright Harry?" Ron asked me

"Yeah, I just saw Malfoy go into the Slytherin common room so we should be okay for now" I smiled

"Did he say why he was looking for Layla?" Hermione asked

"No he just said "no reason", I would've asked again but I didn't want to make the situation worse" I replied

~Time Jump to late at night~

Me and Ron were laughing in our dorm about the dumbest things

"Okay Harry," Ron said as we calmed down "The big question here is, Do you fancy Layla?

"I don't know Ron.."

"Come on! You always talk about her. You tried to protect her as if she was still at hogwarts" Ron said

"But she probably fancys that Cedric guys" I said with jealousy

"We say this all the time Harry. They are just friends!"

"I still don't know Ron" I said

"Okay then" Ron said "Night Harry!"

"Night Ron" I said laying down

Do I like Layla? I can't. She's my best friend. Even though she says they're friends, she has to fancy Cedric..No, she doesn't. Just go to bed. I eventually fell asleep after fighting with myself, I know, I'm weird
