We were in Moody's class but I barley was paying attention. Any chance I got i was researching with Brianne about me being able to turn into a swan. We spent hours on end in the library together. I was constantly tired because of studying so much. In Moody's class I sat next to Hermione
"Layla. Don't fall asleep, come on" Hermione whisper yelled
"I'm awake I'm awake" I whispered
The class ended and it was lunch now. This day has gone by so slow yet so fast. I sat down at the Gryffindor table and just picked at my food
"Layla? You alright?" Harry asked when he sat down next to me
"Yeah, I'm good" I sighed
"What's going on? You haven't been yourself ever since we got to school" Harry said
"She hasn't been sleeping much lately. Layla spends hours in the library studying" Hermione said
"About what?" Ron said worriedly
"About how she can control her turning into, you know. And just stuff about it as well. She's been worried about everyone finding out and people making fun of her"
"Layla.. You need to take a break" Harry said worried
"But I can't, what if it happens during class, or in lunch, at dinner, outside in front of everyone. I need to learn how to control it" I said
"Yeah but you need to get enough sleep" Harry said
"I don't." I said
"Layla-" Hermione started
"Ron, you can have my food" I said pushing the plate towards him
"Layla come on-" Ron tried saying
"I'll see you in class" I said standing up
I grabbed my bag and walked out of the Great Hall
"Lay-" I heard Harry say
"Harry leave her.." Hermione's faint voice said
I kept walking until someone came up to me. It was Brianne
"Layla, you alright?" She asked
"Well not really-" I started
"Come on" she said grabbing my arm
Brianne brought me into the girls bathroom
"What's going on?" She asked as we sat in the floor
"It's just not getting enough sleep, worrying about you and Cedric for when you enter, questioning if I fancy someone, and if they fancy me back what would I do, and overall just trying to keep myself safe along with my friends" I said
I could feel tears rolling down my cheek. Brianne put her arm around my shoulder and I rested my head of her shoulder
"Listen, don't feel pressured to keep your friends safe unless it's urgent. Me and Cedric will be fine if we get chosen and will only need your help if needed. And the problem about not sleeping, I've talked to McGonagall and she said she'll let me and you both have the rest of the day off so we can rest"
