The First Look

-around the time of ^that^ scene

*Layla's POV*

Me, Hermione, and Harry were standing on the bridge talking. I was next to Harry,but there was space in between us, leaning against the wood while Hermione and Harry were facing the opposite way

"Harry you told us you'd figured out the egg weeks ago." I said

"The task to two days from now" Hermione said

"Really? I had no idea" Harry said "I suppose Viktor's already figured it out"

"Wouldn't know. We don't actually talk about the tournament," Hermione said "Actually,we don't really talk at all. Viktor's more of a physical being"

"What have you two been doing?" I laughed

"I just mean he's not particularly loquacious" Hermione added

"Mm-hm" Harry said

"Mostly, he watches me study" Hermione said

"Stalker much" I smiled

"It's a bit annoying actually." Hermione said quickly

Then we all stop laughing, i was still smiling but Hermione and Harry weren't

"You are trying to figure this egg out, aren't you?" She asked Harry

"What's that supposed to mean" Harry said

"It just means these tasks are designed to test you..in the most brutal way. They're almost cruel"

"Almost? He can die" I scoffed

"And, um," Hermione said going to the other side of Harry

She somewhat pushed me as we went to the other side of him

"I'm scared for you" Hermione said

I went to the spot Hermione was so I could still talk to them

"Harry, you got by the dragons mostly on nerve. Your nerves might not be enough this time.." I sighed

Harry went to say something but someone interrupted him

"Hey Potter! Potter!" Cedric called out

"Cedric." Harry said turning around

"Come on, 'Mione" I said

We grabbed our things and started walking away

"You're scared about what's going to happen, right?" She asked me

"Scared? Of course I am" I said putting my bag around my shoulder

"You have to be way more scared than anyone" Hermione said

"Why is that?" I asked

"You two are basically dating now. If anything you would be more scared than me"

"We aren't dating" I said 'fixing' my bag

"Yet. You aren't dating him yet" Hermione smiled

I rolled my eyes as we walked. Me and Hermione went to the common room. After she said the password, we walked in and saw Ron sitting on a couch. I followed Hermione as she went over to him

"You okay Ron?" Hermione asked

Ron was reading a book, he looked awfully confused as well

"Not really" Ron said looking up from the book

"What's up with the book?" I said sitting down across from him

"Professor Snape told me if I don't get my grades up, I'll have detention with him for two months" Ron groaned

"We can help! Layla is really good at potions, even though she hates Snape" Hermione said sitting next to Ron

After what seemed like hours, me and Hermione finally finished helping Ron study so he could get his grades up. Harry joined us after a little while. The four of us were just sitting around and talking at this point

"I'm surprised you still wear the necklace I got you two years ago" Harry said to me

"I mean, it's too pretty to just forget about it and stop wearing it" I said

"Yet another reason why you two have to date" Hermione said giving us a cheeky smile

"Shush" I said kicking her leg

"Ron, you agree with me right?" Hermione asked Ron

"Duh. They're so cute together" Ron said

"Thank-" Hermione started

"Will you shut up about it" I said

"If we want to date, we will" Harry said

"You better start dating soon" Ron said

"You are both so annoying" I groaned
