-June, two days before the school year ends
*Layla's POV*
I had shown the trio "my" tree. As it was getting closer to the summer we sat there often because of the less amount of classes we had. Me and Hermione got into many fights over dumb things but we were still friends, Ron and I became closer over the last few months. And Harry, he was still my best friend. Harry and I still didn't know what Dumbledore meant by us having to protect each other. Granted there were times that Harry would try something bad but I would stop him, and he would do the same for me. People constantly ask if me and Harry are dating. It gets annoying, it really does
"Did you guys hear that tomorrow and the day after we don't have any classes?" Ron said happily
"You dimwit. Of course we don't have class. Tomorrow we are supposed to pack for Friday, which is when we leave" I said
"What! So we aren't allowed to do anything we want?" Ron asked
"You're such a dimwit" I laughed
Harry laughed while Hermione let out a small laugh
"Anyway," Harry spoke "Should we try and do anything before we have to leave Hogwarts?"
"I was going to say read in the library but none of you would like that" Hermione said crossing her arms
"I don't know of anything" Ron added
"We pretty much did everything we wanted to already" I said
"Yeah true" Harry said
"I'm for sure not going to miss Malfoy" I said
The three of them laughed
"I don't think any of us are" Hermione laughed
"Only Malfoy's little group is going to miss-" I started
"Layla!" I heard someone call
I looked up and saw Cedric with his friends
"Hey Ced!" I smiled
I stood up and so did Harry, Ron, And Hermione
"Before we left school this year I wanted you to meet my other friends" Cedric smiled at me
"Oooo, Who?" I asked
"That's Luke" Cedric said pointing to a boy with blonde hair
"Nice to meet you" The boy smiled
"And that's Theo" He said pointing to a boy with dirty blonde almost brown hair
We smiled at each other
"Well, if you don't know," I said "That's Harry"
Harry waved at the group
"Hermione," I smiled "And Ron"
"Nice you meet you all!" Brianne said
"Oh I forgot to mention to your friends!" Cedric laughed "That's Brianne and that's Lizzie"
The two girls waved
"We should get going.." Harry said
"Um, okay. Bye guys!" I waved
Harry grabbed my wrist and pulled me away from Cedric and his friends. The four of us walked away
"What was that for?" I asked Harry
"Luke was grabbing his wand and it looked like he was going to do something" Harry said still not letting go of my wrist
"I didn't see anything, what do you mean?" Ron said
"You didn't see anything cause you weren't paying attention Ron" Hermione said

We were in the common room talking about who knows what
"What would happen if I just got up, screamed, and sat back down?" Ron laughed
"People would think you're a girl screaming" I joked
"And people would think you're a girl- Wait," Ron said
"This is why I call you a dimwit" I laughed
"We can't lie Ron, you do scream like a little girl" Harry laughed
"You sound like a toddler girl crying over candy" Hermione said
"Oh shut up" Ron said
"Ron!" Someone called
"What?" Ron said turning around
It was the twins
"We need your help" Fred said
"With a," George started
"Prank" Both of them said
"Ugh, fine" Ron said standing up
Ron walked away with the twins
"Harry? You alright?" I asked
"Yeah I'm fine" Harry said quickly
"You've just been very quiet today" I said worried
"I've just been thinking that's all" He smiled
"You can always talk to us okay?" Hermione said
"I know"Harry said
"Anyway, I'm going to get a head start on packing" Hermione said standing up
She walked to the dorms
"You sure you're alright Harry?" I asked
"I mean, I'm just worried" He replied
"About what?"
"What Dumbledore said, We aren't going to be around each other," Harry said "What if something happens. We won't be able to protect the other person"
"We'll be alright Harry don't worry. I will stay safe and I'm hoping you will too" I smiled
"I will" Harry smiled
"We should both start packing," I said standing up "I'll meet you back here after"
"Same spot?"
"Same spot"
I walked to my dorm and saw Hermione packing a bunch of clothes. I started packing some of my things
"What are you excited for over the summer?" Hermione asked me
"Nothing really. Usually over the summer I just hang out with family because I don't have many friends back home" I sighed
"What do you mean "don't have many friends"?"
"I was always very shy around people my mother introduced to me. Whenever there were kids I always hid behind my mother" I replied "The only childhood friend I remember having when Cedric. But once he came to hogwarts I never saw him much"
"I'll make sure to write to you this summer" She smiled "And maybe if we don't live far away from each other, we could meet up"
"Hopefully" I said
I never had real friends. I didn't want to leave Hogwarts. I found real friends here, not "friends" who I only talked to when my mother made me. But those kids never really talked to me because I was "too unique". But at hogwarts, no one was "too unique". After all it's named "Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry". I was really hoping Harry, Hermione, and Ron all wrote to me over the summer. They're my best friends. Granted we won't be actually speaking to each other but it would be the best that we could do over the summer
