-Cedric and others put their names in the Goblet
People were surrounding the Goblet as many people put their names in. Me, Harry, and Ron we're sitting on a bench watching everyone. Many hufflepuffs came in, including Cedric, Brianne, and Lizzie
"Come on Cedric! Put it in!" Hufflepuffs said as they pushed Cedric into the age line
People watched as he reached up and put the piece of parchment into the Goblet. After he placed his name in people started clapping. Before the clapping could die down, the Hufflepuffs, now with Cedric and Lizzie in the group, pushed someone else into the age line. Brianne.
"Go on! Put your name in!" Another Hufflepuff said
Once she was across the age line, the clapping stopped quickly. People watched in awe as she was the first girl from Hogwarts to enter the tournament this year. She looked at the piece of parchment in her hand and back to the Goblet
"Put it in!" Cedric said
Brianne placed the piece of parchment into the Goblet. The great hall was filled with claps. As I clapped I looked around the room. As I looked towards where some of the Beauxbatons girls were, I noticed Fleur Delacour gave Brianne a look of disgust. Her friends did the same. Brianne must have noticed because she gave Fleur a look full of hatred. Cedric and Lizzie turned Brianne around quickly before she could start walking towards Fleur. I saw Fleur roll her eyes and say something to her friends. I knew I was being nosy but I read Fleur's lips. She said "That stupid muggle-born thinks she'll be a champion", her friends laughed along with Fleur. After the claps died down other people put their names in, including Viktor Krum. Ron watched Krum in awe as he put his name in the goblet
"Layla! Over here!" Brianne called out to me
"I'll be back boys" I smiled
I got up and went to group of Hufflepuffs. I only knew Cedric, Brianne and Lizzie
"What's up?" I asked
"I wanted you to meet the rest of my friends" Cedric smiled
Cedric introduced all the boys that were with them while Lizzie introduced the few girls who were with them
"I'm Layla Black" I smiled
"So you're that black swan we saw last year!" The one girl said
"Yep that's me" I said giving a light laugh
"It's so cool that you could do that you know" a boy named Theo said
"Yeah you could do so many things other people can't!" Another boy said
"It's not all sunshine and rainbows boys" Brianne said
The two boys looked at Brianne in confusion
"Seriously? Sometimes she can't control it and almost turns into a swan in front of everyone. It has pros and cons" Brianne said
"Ohhhhh" the group said
Lizzie, Cedric, and Brianne sighed. The Weasley twins walked in with an age potion in their hands. As I looked at Brianne, she seemed to be staring at Fred Weasley as he and George kneeled down talking to Hermione
"Got a crush I see" Cedric whispered to Brianne
"I do not" Brianne shot back quickly "Layla, help me with this"
"Sorry, you seem like you have a crush on Fred" I laughed
Lizzie laughed as Brianne sighed still staring at Fred. The twins drank the aging potion and jumped over the age line. As they cheered and walked around everyone, Fred made eye contact with Brianne but continued walking around everyone. I nudged Brianne and watched as Fred and George dripped their names into the Goblet. Then after a bit they aged, I would say maybe 60 years. The two boys started tackling each other. I wanted to go closer but Brianne pulled me away and out of the Great Hall
"What's that for?" I asked with a tone of anger
Lizzie followed our after us wit Cedric by her side leaving the other Hufflepuffs back in the Great Hall
"She doesn't like fighting" Lizzie started
"So whenever she sees people fighting she walks away. And she just so happened to grab you as she did" Cedric finished
"It's not like I try and make fights happen, Cedric" Brianne sneered
"Wait what?" I asked with confusion
"Cedric always makes up jokes around our other friends and it always almost starts up a fight between someone"Brianne said
"Because it's funny" Cedric scoffed
"It is not!" Brianne said trying to keep her voice down
"Will you two stop fighting!" Lizzie said
"Not until he learns what is actually funny and what's not!" Brianne said with anger
"Layla, you can go. I'll deal with this" Lizzie sighed
I gave her a light smile and walked away. As I looked back I could see Brianne yelling at Cedric with Lizzie in front of Cedric so he didn't do anything. I found an empty bench not far away from where Brianne and Cedric were fighting. When I looked over I saw Cedric push Brianne to the ground, her leg scraping a bench as she fell. I watched her stumble to the ground, she gave Cedric a look full of anger, sadness and hatred. She then looked at Lizzie with a mix of sadness and anger. Brianne said to Lizzie "Control your boyfriend before you come see again". Lizzie tried grabbing her but she walked off before she could. Cedric and Lizzie turned around and started walking in my direction. I shot up and walked past them before they could say a word to me. As I continued walking Harry grabbed my shoulders in front of me
"Where are you going?" He asked
"To the common room, why?" I said
"It's the other way" He laughed
"Well-" I started
"Come on. It's getting later" Harry smiled
It was already after dinner, hence 'It's getting later'. Harry and I talked as we went to the common room. Harry brought up Cedric, and saying how 'cool' he was or whatever. Deep down, at this moment in time, I had a feeling of hatred toward Cedric. I told Harry went happened moments before he came up to me
"I take back everything I just said about him" Harry said
"I would too if I were you" I said
"Brianne is such a nice person, I mean she comforts you whenever you need it. Who would want to hurt her" He sighed
"I don't think Cedric would do it at any other moment. But, he still shouldn't done it in the first place" I said entering the common room
Harry nodded
"I'll force Cedric to apologize to Brianne if I have to" I said
Hermione waved us down and we walked over. I sat down, Harry sat down soon after I did
"I guess your close friends with Hufflepuffs?" Ron asked me
"I am, what's the problem there?" I said
"Nothing, as long as they aren't Slytherins" Ron said "Slytherins are practically our enemies"
