Chapter 21

-First Day of Classes

*Layla's POV*

Yesterday I was told I couldn't participate in any outdoor classes or activities because of Sirius escaping. It's dumb, I know. I was walking Harry to whatever class Hagrid was teaching. I was going to wait inside for him, Ron, and Hermione

"How are you going to learn about this class?" Harry asked me

"I'm not too sure yet. Dumbledore told me if he thinks it's safe for me to do outside classes, I'll be able to do them" I answered "And besides, today you're only "learning" about a creature. Not something massive"

"Hopefully you can do this class soon"

"I hope"

We got to the point where I couldn't walk any farther without getting in trouble or whatever it is.

"I'll see you after class" Harry smiled

I smiled back and found somewhere to sit. I sat down on the floor and started reading a book

"What might you be doing sitting here?" Someone asked

"Huh?" I said looking up "Oh Hi Professor Lupin. I'm not allowed to do outdoor classes so that's why I'm here"

"You have my class next so if you would like to come to my class room that would be alright" He smiled "And I need to speak to you as well"

I closed my book and stood up. I walked with Lupin to his classroom

"What did you need to speak to me about Professor?" I asked as I entered the room

"If you don't mind me asking, who is your father?" Lupin spoke

"S-Sirius Black Sir.." I responded

"Have you ever met him before?"

"I haven't actually. I've lived with my foster family for as long as I can remember"

"Very Well," Lupin said "I was friends with your father. When I was a student here at Hogwarts"

"Was?" I asked

"I haven't seen him for many years. Me, him, James Potter, and Peter Pettigrew were all friends many years ago"

"J-James Po-Potter?" I said

Lupin nodded

"Whenever I get a chance," Lupin said "I would love to speak to you and Harry."

"I would be free but I'm not sure about Harry" I smiled

"It was nice speaking to you! I'm guessing you are going to wait for your friends after their class?" He laughed

"Yeah" I laughed

"Very well then. You may go wait for them"

I waved to him and hurried back to where I was before. I went up to the entrance to where you would go for the class. The trio came up to me

"Did I miss something exciting? You three look, um, happy with a mix of frightened.."

"Nothing that exciting don't worry" Ron said

"Whatever, let's get to Professor Lupin's class" I sighed

Me and Harry were walking in front of Ron and Hermione

"I'll tell you what happened later don't worry" Harry smiled

"Thanks Harry" I smiled

We got to Lupins class and walked in. There weren't any desks so we all stood around each other. There was a closet which seemed like something was inside it. After everyone was in the room, Professor Lupin started talking out of nowhere which made me jump.

"Any guesses to as what is inside?" Lupin asked the class

"That's a boggart sir" Dean said

"Very good Mr. Thomas" Lupin replied "Now can anyone tell me what a boggart is?"

"No one knows," Hermione said proudly "Boggarts are shapeshifters. The take the shape of a particular persons biggest fear. That's what makes them so-"

"Terrifying, yes" Lupin said "Luckily, a very simple charm exists to repel a boggart. Let's practice it now, without wands please. After me, Riddikulus"

"Riddikulus" Everyone repeated

Be continued talking but I didn't listen to much. I was busy thinking about what my boggart would be

"Um, Neville will you join me please? Come on, don't be shy"

Neville looked around and walked up to Lupin

"Neville, what frightens you the most of all?"

He mumbled something

"Sorry?"

"P-Professor Snape" Neville said

Everyone laughed. I feel bad for him. A professor is his biggest fear, wow. I mean Snape can be scary at times. By the time I was paying attention again Neville had said "Riddikulus" and Snape was wearing grandma clothes. Everyone laughed except a few Slytherins.

"Everyone form a line" Lupin called out

In the line I was ahead of Harry and behind another Gryffindor

"I want everyone to picture the thing they fear the very most and turn into something, Funny." Lupin said "Next up, Ron"

Ron walked up a bit. Snape spun into a spider. Of course it was spider. He shakily grabbed his wand from his robe. As Ron said "Riddikulus" the spider now had roller skates on and it was struggling to walk. More and more kids went up. Everyone laughing at what the things became

"Layla! You're next" Lupin said

I walked up. The last persons boggart turned into mine. It flipped into dust

"Perhaps you have no biggest fear?" Professor Lupin said

"But How is that possible?" A kid asked

"Very few people have no boggart. You just happen to be one of them Layla" Lupin smiled

I smiled and walked to the back the line. Giving Harry a look saying "Good Luck". As Harry walked up, the dust turned into a dementor. Lupin went in front of Harry causing the dementor to turn into a full moon

"Riddikulus!"

The moon turned into a white balloon. Lupin put it back into closet and shut the door with his wand

"You may collect your books. That is the end of today's lesson"

People groaned as the Professor said sorry to everyone who didn't get to see their boggart turn into something funny. Harry walked next to me, Hermione, and Ron as we walked out

"I'm surprised you're biggest fear was a dementor" Ron laughed

"That's surprising but can we talk about Layla's!" Hermione said

"Yeah yours was dust! You don't have a biggest fear" Harry smiled

"That boggart was a lie. I am scared of stuff" I sneered

"Like what?" Ron asked

"Um.." I said

"Exactly" Hermione laughed

"Shut it" I smiled "Yours is probably a failed test Hermione"

She rolled her eyes as we headed to our next class. Ron and Hermione were now in front of me and Harry

"I feel like people are gonna judge me off of "not" being scared of anything" I sighed

"People might not! Only a few people don't have a boggart" Harry said

"Yeah you're right.." I said as we walked into the classroom

I had a seat next to Harry which was on the other side of the room that Ron and Hermione were on
