-The Third and Final Task

*Layla's POV*

Its the day of the final task. Every time I looked at Harry he got even more nervous than he was before. Me, Ron, and Hermione were comforting Harry in the common room

"It's going to be alright Harry" I said

"What is something happens?" Harry said fidgeting with his fingers "What if I die?"

"Harry don't think that way" Hermione said

"You won't die" Ron said

"How do you know. You'll just be in the crowd, not in the maze" Harry said to Ron

"Harry, if I have to, I'll be with you" I said

Harry gave me a look of confusion, along with Hermione and Ron

"Not as a human you dimwits!" I said "As a swan of course"

"Oh" The three of them said

"Besides, Brianne and Lizzie want me to make sure Cedric is going to be okay" I sighed

"Not to be rude but they want you to do something for them all the time" Hermione said annoyed

"It's fine, Hermione" I reassured her

"Layla, you don't have to watch over me if you don't want to.." Harry said

"Harry, it's for your safety. I don't want you to die" I said

We were in the crowd as the four Champions were coming out. Each of the schools doing their own thing. I was on the side closet to the steps so I could see Lizzie and Brianne. Lizzie looked over to me and I nodded. As Harry walked out I could tell he was more nervous than he's ever been

"Silence!" Dumbledore called out

The clapping stopped, and everyone sat down

"Earlier today, Professor Moody places the Triwizard cup deep within the maze. Only he knows it's exact position," Dumbledore said "Now as Mr.Diggory-"

Many people cheered as Cedric's Dad, Amos, held up his arm

"And Mr.Potter.."

More people cheered, including me of course. After Harry saw how many people cheered for him he smiled

"Are tied for first potion. They will be the first to enter the maze, followed by Mr.Krum and Miss Delacour" Dumbledore said "The first person to touch the cup will be the winner!"

Again, everyone clapped.

"I've instructed the staff to patrol the perimeter. Should, at any point, a contestant wish to withdraw from the task. He or she need only send up red sparks with their wands. Contestants, gather round! Quickly!"

Dumbledore talked to the four of them. I was fidgeting with my fingers

"Layla!" Lizzie whisper yelled

I looked at her "Hm?"

"You remember what you said in the letter last night right?" She asked me

I nodded. I wrote a letter to Lizzie, knowing Brianne would see it too since they share a dorm. I told her that if I look directly at Lizzie and/or Brianne, one of them should run to a spot where I come grab them quickly

Cedric and Harry walked into the maze and it closed. I got more nervous

"Layla, he'll be alright" Hermione said to me
