Chapter 32

Omniscient POV

They made there way out of the warehouse and into the cold night. Melanie clung to Ghost as they made their way to the car. They all decided to meet at Kane's mansion so they could get to the bottom of her parents' disappearance. The adrenaline from the night still ran through their veins as Santana set the warehouse on fire. They watched as the flames engulfed the warehouse and soon it was nothing but a pile of ashes.

"Aye man I can't thank you enough for all your help. It really means a lot," said Nasir as he dapped Skip.

"Man anytime. I'm glad I could help. Y'all be safe," he said as he got in his car and drove off.

Nasir rode with Santana and Rico while Kane rode with their parents. Melanie decided to ride with Ghost and soon they were all on their way to Kane's mansion.

"You good babe?" asked Ghost as he looked over at her.

"I don't know how I feel but I really want answers. I'm shocked you were able to keep this all from me. I kind of suspected something when I overheard you talking to someone on the phone, but I didn't think much of it. I understand why you kept it from me, so I'm not to mad. I know you care about me and you wouldn't do anything to deliberately hurt me," she said.

"You know I got you and I'll answer any questions that you have," he said. He soon got off on his exit and headed towards Kane's mansion. It didn't take him long to make it to his destination, and after entering his code he parked his car next to Santana's camero.

They made their way to the door but before they could knock the door swung open and their stood Coco. She had tears running down her eyes as she embraced Melanie.

"Girl I'm so happy you're safe. I was hiding with Nasir but he wouldn't tell me your whereabouts. I missed you so much and I'm so sorry that I couldn't save you that night," she said.

"Babes it's okay. I'm just happy that you are alive. So much has happened and I missed you. We need to catch up," said Melanie as she hugged her tighter.

They locked arms as they made their way to the living room where everyone was sitting. She took a seat in between Nasir and Ghost. Coco sat on the other side of Nasir and everyone else sat around them. Kane and their parents sat in the front facing them.

"I know y'all have a lot of questions and before we get to them we wanted to apologize. It was never our intent to stay hidden or to leave y'all behind. We did what we thought was the right thing to protect both you. We understand if you don't want anything to do with us. We have missed so many years of your life and we're so sorry. I hope you can forgive us," said their dad

"I get that y'all did what you had to do, but life was hard for Nasir and I. Before Kane found us we were roaming the streets and sleeping outside. We had to do our best not to be noticed so CPS wouldn't find us. If Kane hadn't come when he did I don't know what would of happened to us. Our lives would of been different if y'all were around and I know we wouldn't have got into the drug business," said Melanie

"I get that and I understand that. No parent wants to leave their child behind, and I was sad thinking of all the milestones that we missed. With him thinking we were dead I knew he would break into our account and have enough money to hold him until he was ready to strike y'all," said her mom.

"Don't get me wrong I love Kane and the family that I have through this business but I needed my mom. I grew up in a house full of boys and CoCo's mom filled that void that I wished you had. I wish the circumstances weren't the way they were but I'm happy y'all are alive. I just need some time to adjust to everything," said Melanie.

"I had my suspicions that y'all were still alive but I didn't act on it. I'm happy to see y'all but like Mel said life was rough for us. I'm grateful that Kane took us in and provided for us because if he hadn't I don't think Mel and I would be here," said Nasir.

"Man y'all know I love y'all like my kids and that isn't going to stop. I got y'all for life," said Kane.

"It's just a lot honestly and I was so depressed and angry when I saw you dead in that club. I felt so lonely and unwanted after that incident. I gave Ghost hell and I even tried to commit suicide because I was so down. Ghost helped me to heal from that and his family welcomed me in with open arms. I can't say I'm all the way mad about the situation because if it didn't happen I would've have met Ghost and his family. I'm happy y'all are all here and now we can move forward," said Melanie.

Ghost kissed her forehead as she squeezed his bicep.

"You know I got you forever shawty," he said.

"And I got you forever boo," she said as they kissed on the lips.

"Bitch we have a lot to catch up on," said Coco.

"We do! So you were hiding with Nasir. Let me find out y'all are secretly dating."

"Don't freak out but we have been secretly seeing eachother," said Coco.

"Bitch I fucking knew it. What happened to Javon?"

"Oh girl he's gay. I needed someone to cover the fact I was dating Nasir and he didn't want people to know his sexuality. It was a win win for the both of us at the time. He recently came out and he's been dating this really cool guy. I'm happy for him," said CoCo.

Kane had left the room briefly and when he returned back he had Queen in his arms. She jumped and wagged her tail when she saw Melanie. Kane placed her on the ground as she ran and jumped in Melanie's lap.

"Hey Queen I missed you so much girl," she cooed as her puppy licked her face. She cuddled in her lap as she pet her soothingly. Melanie was happy that her baby was safe and she couldn't wait to take her home.

Everyone continued with their individual conversations and soon they called it a night.

Melanie and Ghost made it back to her condo and showered and chilled for the night.

"I'm not going to lie I was mad at you when I found out you knew about Nasir being alive.  But I get why you didn't say anything to me," said Melanie as she cuddled next to Ghost.

"I told you I couldn't let you know what was going on but you know I got your back regardless. When Nasir presented me with the plan I was all for it. I had been peeping you for a while and I liked how you moved. I didn't take the job on no creep shit though. I genuinely wanted to make sure you were safe," said Ghost as he kissed her forehead.

"I'm kind of happy it happened because I met you and we started this relationship. You have changed my life for the better and I'm grateful to have met you. I got you forever baby boy," said Melanie.

"And I got you forever baby girl. You will always be safe with me,"

"Make me a promise though. No more lies or secrets. We keep it real with each other moving forward no matter how bad it is,"

"I can promise you that," said Ghost.

"Also did you know my parents were still alive?"

"Nah I didn't. Kane told me how he knew that Nasir had came to me for help and he wanted to know what the plan was. He said he knew about Curtis coming after y'all and that he had a secret plan to destroy him. I didn't know what it was but I was in constant communication with him," said Ghost.

"I believe you...I'm ready to move on and put this whole situation behind us,"

"Same baby girl,"

Melanie snuggled up next to Ghost as they enjoyed the rest of their night.
