You would think that after rescuing your sister from being used as a magical battery whilst your husband had a torturous magical blade sucked into his chest and comforting your son who was grieving the loss of a girl who was like family and ritually sacrificed, you'd get one morning of peace to yourself. Apparently, that didn't count if you were in New Orleans or were a Mikaelson.
And seeing as Isa was both, she started her morning by strolling out to the second-floor balcony of the compound courtyard with a cup of juice in her hand before the cup fell and shattered, the juice spilling on the floor of the courtyard below as she screamed at the sight of a dead body lying in the middle of the courtyard.Marcel's vampires were at her side in a second, along with Katherine, who only frowned at the body - Papa Tunde's dead body to be specific. And his body was lying in his trademarked sacrificial circle of salt.
Nik, Elijah, and Marcel were instantly called home, the three of them having gone to see Father Kieran in hopes he had news as to Papa Tunde's whereabouts. No need for that anymore. After a bit of a grave discussion about why the witches would leave them his dead body, Rebekah arrived with news from the City of the Dead.
Monique Deveraux was alive. She had quite literally crawled out of her own grave and risen from the dead.
Marcel was elated. That meant that the Harvest Ritual wasn't a sham and that Davina would come back. All they had to do was kill the witch that took her place.
It was then that Isa began putting some of the puzzle pieces together and the picture she was forming didn't look too good. What if the reason why Davina was drawing Celeste Dubious was because she was one of the witches who was going to be resurrected?
Rebekah and Katherine had been asked to accompany Isa to the plantation house, all of the men feeling as if the compound wasn't safe for her with the witches coming in and out. And where her brother, husband, and son were ready to put up a fight to keep her and her baby safe, they were shocked, indeed, when Isa agreed with their plan. I mean, the witches could come and go as they please and they were known for trying to kill Isa and her baby in the past, so it seemed like a reasonable idea.
But of course, more bad news followed the dead body left in their house. Marcel had discovered the identity of another of the resurrected witches. And the only person he told was Rebekah, because Rebekah was the reason this particular witch was dead in the first place. Genevieve.
That was certainly a name that Rebekah could go the rest of time without hearing again.
Since she was required to be a part of Isa's protective detail, she asked Marcel to put an end to Genevieve as Rebekah had before. She was then off with Isa and Katherine as everyone else went about their respective tasks. Marcel was to work with the Deveraux witches in order to find the other resurrected witches, Genevieve included. Nik was trying to help heal Father Kieran of a hex. The priest had been presented with an ultimatum from the witches. He was to either stab Nik with the same magical agony blade Papa Tunde did, or her would be hexed. So, he picked a third option. He took the hex, handed the blade over to Nik, and asked for his help instead. And Elijah was to work with the witch Sabine to find Celeste, only to find out that the witch Sabine was Celeste. But when Marcel and Nik tried to use Monique to find the rest of the witches, Sophie turned on them. She snapped Marcel's neck with a flick of her wrist before taking Papa Tunde's blade herself, and plunging it into Nik's chest.
And once again, miles away at the plantation house, Isa screamed bloody murder as agony washed over her and her glass of blood crashed to the ground.
"What's wrong?!" Katherine asked as she rushed to her side, Isa breathing heavily.
"Nik. Something is very wrong with Nik," she panted, and then Isa's phone rang.
"Isa."
"Elijah," she breathed in greeting.
