"Why in hell is he still here?!" Isa asked outraged as she clutched Hope tight to her chest, her daughter's bags on her shoulder. In front of her, across the courtyard and next to Freya's side stood one of the last people she ever wanted to see. But Mikael was ever the obedient soldier when it came to his firstborn.

"I thought Marcel was picking Hope up hours ago?" Elijah asked as he strode into the room, Rebekah and Katherin by his side as they'd been together when they heard Isa's shouts.

"After Dahlia's attack tonight, he had Josephine and Davina upgrade the enchantments and Kol is adding some extra security measures. Hope's pick-up was changed to twenty minutes from now, which was long after I thought this absurd alliance ended," Isa explained as she glared at Mikael whilst also trying to prevent her daughter from even laying eyes on him.

"Isa, I mean you no harm," Mikael said almost irritated, and Isa's glare transformed into a vicious sneer.

"My baby was not even out of my womb before you tried to kill her and me! Your word means nothing to me now," she yelled at him as her husband finally descended the stairs, the last of her bags in his arms as he dropped them on the floor and stood before his wife, blocking his daughter from Mikael.

"Regardless of tonight's monumental failure, I still have more than enough energy to kill you, should you even think about touching them," Nik growled darkly as the veins rippled under his eyes when Mikael took several steps forward, Elijah stepping up to Nik's side as well.

"Our night was a monumental failure because we revealed our sole weapon against Dahlia to her, like fools, and now she's taken it, just as she planned," he hissed.

"Am I hearing things, or did Nik just exchange words with our Father?" Rebekah asked Elijah but no one answered her question.

"Rebekah," Mikael said in intrigue as he took a step towards her. "I'd know that wicked tongue anywhere. What mischief have you gotten yourself into now, no doubt the bastard's doing?"

"Actually, it was your wife, who was so unsatisfied with you that she sought comfort in another," Isa retorted, her eyes dark as she held onto Hope.

"My patience, like this farce of a reunion, is at an end," Nik growled.

"Agreed," Elijah said as he stepped forward. "There really is only one question here, what exactly are we doing?"

"This was not my plan," Freya began, finally joining the conversation. "You rushed it and made but a single weapon. Of course, she took it from you. And now we've lost what advantage we had and used up the very materials we needed to kill her."

"It's a bit histrionic. Your materials are easily found," Nik began as swaggered forward a few steps. "Let's take stock, shall we? There is an ample supply of your blood. Norwegian soil is hardly scarce and what else?"

"The ashes of Dahlia's Viking oppressors, it's not at all dramatic," Isa finished and Nik smiled.

"Too right you are, my love."

"They were priceless relics gotten with great difficulty at a museum," Mikael informed. "Lost, due to your worthless strategy! You may as well just kill the child now!" Mikael raged and suddenly Nik had him forced against the concrete wall, the white oak stake pressed to his heart as Elijah sped forward and held back Freya.

"No!" Freya exclaimed as Katherine took Hope from Isa and Rebekah moved to help distract her niece from what was happening.

"If I feel even the faintest touch of your magic, Freya, I will end him with a flick of my wrist!" Nik boomed and the girl began to cry as she fought Elijah's grip. "You don't seem surprised," Nik observed as he studied Mikael's face.
