Their plan was working surprisingly well as Isa helped load the werewolf kids into the ambulance. However, as they worked, she got a rather interesting call from her husband which resulted in her apologising profusely to Marcel and Aiden as she had to take her leave. They assured her they'd be fine as she left when really it was a lie because the minute she left, Christan and Katherine had to fight Finn who wasn't meeting the humans. Rather it was a big ploy so they could capture Elijah.
And no disrespect to her brother, but he could handle torture, and what Nik called about was too important not to go to him.
He and Josh had found the remote cabin where Davina was hidden away with Mikael. The cabin had initially been empty, or so they thought. That was until Nik had found a whittled staff carved with his father's family crest. Nik then threw it through the window, sending shattered glass showering over the two witches who were performing a cloaking spell.
"ENOUGH GAMES DAVINA!" Nik boomed. "Send out my father. Let's finish this." Nik was only met with silence. "Davina! Is this not what you brought him for?! I'm not afraid!"
After a minute more of silence, Mikael finally appeared in the doorway. "Hello...boy," he spat. "You seem rather impatient. Are you that eager to meet your end?"
"I'm only eager to stand over your burning corpse again. And this time I'll be the one to set it alight."
"Ahh yes. You were dependent on your bitch of a wife to kill me. She will be the second to taste the wood of this stake after I kill you." Nik balled his fists as his father continued. "I have travelled to hell and back for this moment," Mikael said lowly as he slowly walked down the few stairs that led to the door of the cabin.
"Well then I'd hate to keep you waiting," Nik said with a smug smile.
They lunged.
Their battle lasted mere minutes, but in the moment when Nik was fighting for his life, it felt like years. Nik thought he'd gotten stronger in the past few years since becoming a hybrid, but this fight with his father seemed to prove him wrong as it seemed like seconds before Nik was on his back and Mikael towered over him. His hands were barely fast enough to stop Mikael from bringing down the white oak stake into his heart as sticks and stones dug into his back. It was a battle of strength that he was losing as he let out a tortured cry as the stake pierced his shoulder.
But in that moment, when he was seconds away from death, there was only a single thought, a single word on his mind. Hope.
Whether it was his daughter or the concept of hope that he contemplated at that moment, some divine force seemed to have heard his final thought and answered him. They sent him hope.
For it was that very moment that his wife arrived, seeming to appear out of thin air as she gripped the shortly cropped hair on Mikael's head, her nails grazing at his scalp as she yanked his head back and drove Papa Tunde's blade into his back. Mikael screamed out in anguish as Isa pulled the blade out from his back and let out a sound of exclamation as she flipped him over her shoulder and onto his back before she sank the bone blade into his chest.
"Have a nice nap," she snarled as Mikael's screams echoed through the woods as the blade disappeared under his shirt, under his skin and he became unconscious. Isa left him be as she rushed over to her husband and ripped the white oak stake out from his shoulder he groaned in pain. She wasted no time in biting into her wrist as she held it to his lips and he drank eagerly. His fangs always hurt when they dug into her skin since he had more of them than your average vampire, but that was the only pain her husband ever subjected her to, and most of the time it was in a rather pleasurable context. As for the toxins in his teeth, Isa would never fall victim to werewolf venom because from the second he was free of his curse, Isa always had a steady stream of his blood in her system. It wasn't just to keep her safe from other wolves, but in situations like this, they didn't have to worry about her being poisoned.
