After the magical day that was Elijah and Katherine's wedding, unfortunately, reality came knocking harshly the next day.

Marcel and Rebekah had gone out to the witch markets, only for two men to try and attack Rebekah, not Rebekah but the body she occupied. After escaping them, Marcel contacted a shaman, some psychic to see if he could dig through Rebekah's mind and find out who she used to be whilst Elijah left his wife to go pay a visit to a witch named Josephine La Rue, in the hopes that she might know who Rebekah was. And who Rebekah was, was rather horrifying. Eva Sinclair was the name of her host and her host had committed atrocities that involved the kidnapping and killing of nearly a dozen witch children.

Elijah had also been lucky enough to be able to negotiate Rebekah's safety by bargaining the safe return of Finn's host body who was a man named Vincent Griffith and who was a rather powerful witch to begin with. However, after finding out about his brother's miraculous return to life from his wife, Nik had other plans for him. He'd gone to the cemetery himself to kill Finn permanently, his brother now lying on the paved floors as he bled out, his teeth stained red, but before Nik could deliver the final blow, he was stopped. Rather, he was slammed into one of the stone walls by Isa as she glared at him.

"You snuck out this morning. I thought we were past meaningless one-night stands?" she snarked as her hand pressed his chest into the stone. He had indeed snuck out of their room this morning, leaving his wife and daughter sleeping in their bed before he came to deal with Finn, alone.

Elijah had called Isa first and informed him of Nik's actions, so after leaving Hope with her Aunt Kat who was still deliriously happy after yesterday's events, she ventured to the cemetery with Elijah, who now also sported a gold ring on his left hand. "You ignored my phone call," Elijah said faux hurt in his voice as he stood next to his sister.

"I've been busy," Nik said darkly.

"Busy trying to kill Finn, by yourself!" Isa yelled as she pulled Nik forward to slam him into the wall again as he was winded, the air being forced out of his lungs with the impact.

"We need him alive," Elijah explained.

"No, we don't. I will not have him hurt my family again!" Nik persisted.

Isa let him go as she stood straight, pushing the hair from her face as she said, "That's very sweet Nik, but had you bothered to pick up Elijah's call, you would've learned that we only need Finn's host body alive, not Finn."

"The witches want his body, unharmed. And this alliance could be greatly beneficial to us all," Elijah explained further to his brother who'd significantly calmed.

"Witch allies can prove valuable," came a new voice and they all turned. A blonde woman with icy blue eyes rounded the corner as she came into view, but she didn't look at them. Instead, she moved past them to stand in front of Finn.

"Freya.... Help me," Finn whimpered as he lay, blood still pooling on the ground from his injuries.

"Don't worry brother, I won't let them hurt you," the woman, Freya, promised, and Isa grabbed onto Nik's hand just as he reached for hers. Finn began to scream as Freya clutched tight to a blue pendant around her neck, muttering a spell that had Finn's body shuddering.

When she was done, Finn flinched as he said, "Who are you?"

Freya raised two fingers in response as she said, "Sleep."

"What did you do to him?" Nik asked as he stood protectively in front of Isa, their hands still entwined.

Freya held her necklace. "Finn is now safe from harm. And his hatred for you can no longer do damage to our cause," she explained.
