Day 22

DAY 22: IN BATTLE, SIDE BY SIDE

The octoling and the inkling were shoved against a wall; both exhausted, bloodied, but they were not giving up.

For you see, they were fighting a hoard of sanitized octolings who were interested in murdering them. The two lovers knew they couldn't die. Not yet. So they were fighting back with everything they had.

But...it seemed that wasn't enough. Aloha had been knocked out, and was lying on the ground, head oozing pink. And Army had stuck by his lover, and got backed against the wall, his N-Zap having been thrown to the side.

He was defenseless, and had an unconscious Aloha on the ground, and nothing but his body to defend himself with-

...Wait, that's it! Army thought. These octolings don't seem to know...never mess with a pissed off dancer.

Army waited until one of the octolings was right in front of him, and he high kicked them in the face, causing them to fall back into the other octos, causing even more to fall down. Army picked up Aloha and secured his arms around Army's shoulders via the friendly octo's parka, so he was now carrying his fiancé.

Army practically danced his way through the crowd of octolings, kicking and twirling to knock them back, until he was out of the fray and safe on the metro's train. He untied Aloha and set his parka onto an empty seat, laying Aloha down on it. "Love...p-please wake up...."

Nothing.

Aloha was still out cold, his wounds still bleeding badly.

Army knew he couldn't heal Aloha. Not down here, and not alone.

So his first stop was the surface. He threw his parka on to hide his armor, and carefully took Aloha into his arms, rushing to the nearest hospital.

He explained the situation to the nurses, and Aloha was wisked away so he could be examined. Army knew Aloha's least favorite thing was being looked at by doctors. One look at his DNA and he'd be misgendered.

Still. Army needed to do this. He took a seat in the waiting room, and got himself mentally ready for however long he might be here.

So the next 2 prompts I didn't want to write cause I don't like the type of angst it causes so I'm switching them up.
