PLEASE READ: The next couple of chapters will contain topics surrounding abusive relationships and cheating. Now, there will obviously not be many details for I don't want this to be a super mature book. With that said, I'm aware that for some these topics can be triggering. Please feel free to skip this chapter and the next. Mental health is always more important.

**Time skip: One month**

Joshua's POV:

It's been 3,801,600 seconds, aka 63,360 minutes, aka 1,056 hours, aka 44 days, aka 6 weeks. aka one month and 2 weeks since Olivia and I broke up and she got together with that asshole, also known as Harry.

Here's what's happened:

1. I've written enough sad songs to last a lifetime, and Olivia's given enough fake smiles to last a lifetime.

2. Since Olivia's been with Harry, practically all of her smiles are fake. He insists on going everywhere with her, except for at night. I heard from Matt, who heard from Joe, who heard from Dara, who heard from Julia, who heard from Sofia who heard from Olivia, that Harry just goes on "late-night runs" every day.

3. The other day I caught Harry yelling at Olivia in the East High parking lot. He was practically screaming at her, all for going out to lunch with Sofia without telling him.

4. Yesterday, I walked into the music room, only to see Olivia sitting at the piano singing All I Want with the most passion I've seen. It's clear she's hurting, she just won't tell anyone.

The sound of muffled voices broke me out of my thoughts.

I walked past the lockers at the school, trying to find whoever is obviously trying to scream.

As I walked past the music room, the sound grew louder. I turned around and stopped in my tracks. There was Olivia and Harry against a wall. With Harry forcing himself on her.

Before I could even comprehend what I was doing, I ran up to them and pushed Harry off her. The second I did, Olivia immediately came and practically collapsed into my chest. I instinctively wrapped my arms around her and rest my chin on top of her head.

"Thank you," she whispered into my chest.

"Of course," I whispered back before kissing the top of her head.

"Dude what the hell?!" I heard Harry yell.

"Excuse me for stopping you from hurting Liv!"

"Oh come on, she's fine! Plus she was asking for it by wearing that dress!"

"She's not fine, and you forced her to wear it!"

I heard Olivia whimper slightly as we raised our voices.

"I'm her boyfriend. And I love her. Just leave us alone. Come on babe," Harry spat out before trying to pull Olivia away from me.

She wrapped her arms tighter around my waist so there was no way he could pull her away.

"Harry I suggest you go a cool off for a bit," I replied.

"Fine, she's hideous anyways," he said harshly before walking towards the lobby.

I felt warm tears stain my shirt and put my finger under Liv's chin so I could see her.

"Hey, are you ok?" I asked softly.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied matching my tone.

"Please don't lie to me Liv. I know we aren't exactly on the best terms right now, but I still hate to see you in pain. Do you want to talk about it?"

I saw her take a deep breath before saying, "Um yeah. Can we go into the room so people don't hear?"

I didn't get a chance to respond before she grabbed my hand a pulled me into the music room.

We went and sat against the floor-to-ceiling mirrors, with her sitting so close to me she might as well be on my lap.

"Just go when you're ready," I said, breaking the silence.

"It's kind of a long story."

"Then it's a good thing we're done filming for the day."

"Ok. So around a month ago Harry started being kind of..."

"Aggressive?"

"No, he's just protective."

"Liv, he always wants to know where you are, what you're wearing, what you're doing, and who you're with."

"Josh he just cares."

I guess there's no changing her mind.

"What happened, Liv? What were you guys doing in the hallway?"

"Last night I got home a bit late, and he got mad. He through a plant pot and then I guess today he was just getting his anger out? I don't know."

"Did he hurt you?"

She went silent and just looked at the ground.

"Liv? Liv did he hurt you?"

"Um..."

"Olivia. Be straight with me. Has he been hurting you physically?!" I said, raising my voice from a whisper.

"Yes! Yes, ok?! He hurts me sometimes. Happy now?!" she replied, before breaking down into tears.

A couple of minutes passed, and she finally stopped crying.

"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked her softly.

"It's not as bad as it sounds."

"It doesn't matter how bad it is. He's still hurting you, and that's not ok."

She took a deep breath before responding, "Ok."

"You need to work out where you go from here."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, you obviously can't stay with him."

"Of course I can," she said, getting defensive.

"No, you can't. Liv this is turning into an abusive relationship!"

"No, it's not! I'm fine! You heard him, he loves me!"

"That's not love Olivia!"

"Yes, it is! He would never hurt me!"

We were standing up now, just like how we were after our first fight during the quarantine.

"Seriously?! Olivia, he just hurt you!"

"I'm fine," she said, harshly.

"No, you're not. I'm not just going to stand by and watch you get hurt."

"Oh really?" she said sarcastically.

"Yes, of course!" I said.

"That's funny. Because you've hurt me more times than he ever could."
