after this, there's just one chapter left 🥺

. . .

Joshua's POV:

Julia quickly turned off the live video, and I immediately pulled Olivia up off the floor and to the living room. I can tell she's trying to hold it all in, and there's no way she'd break down in front of everyone.

I sat us down on the couch and put her on my lap. She rested her head against my chest, and slowly but surely started crying. Scratch that, sobbing.

"I thought he was gone for good," she cried into my chest.

"I know, baby, I know," I comforted her, rubbing her back.

"I just wanted to focus on us, and now he's back to ruin things."

"No, no baby, no. I won't allow that."

"I didn't finish helping that girl," she said, still sobbing.

"You self-less girl. You need to focus on yourself right now. she knows it was an abusive relationship, which was part of her question."

"Ok," she said burying her face into my neck, smelling my cologne in the way I know calms her down.

"We made it very clear that he needs to go, and he hasn't reached out since. I promise everything will be fine," I said kissing the top of her head.

"You promise?" she said looking up at me.

"I promise," I replied.

"Thank you for being here for me."

"Always," I replied, kissing her.

We sat in silence for a bit, me rubbing her back while she cuddled into me as close as possible.

"Babe, I think we should go tell everyone you're ok," I said.

"Can you do it?"

"Of course," I kissed her before getting off the sofa and heading back to where everyone else was.

"Hey, how is she?" Joe asked.

"She's hurting, but she'll be fine," I told him.

"Do you think she'll be ok?" Dara asked.

"Of course she will, she's Olivia Rodrigo. She's the strongest girl I know," I replied, looking out the door to where Liv was curled up on the sofa.

"Go help your girl, Josh," Matt said.

As much as he hates to admit it, he is actually a big softy at heart.

"Thanks, guys. I think she just needs a few minutes and then maybe we can have a movie night or something before we leave?"

"Sure. We leave in the morning, so how about we all pack, and then we can meet in the living room and watch some movies," Joe suggested.

Everyone agreed and all split up going to their separate rooms. I went back to the living room, to tell Liv.

"Livvy?" I said, getting her attention.

"Yeah?"

"Everyone is going to go pack, and then we're all gonna come back here and watch a movie or two. Does that sound good?" I asked, crouching down so I was eye-level.

"Mhm, sounds good," she said getting up off the sofa, grabbing my hand, and walking up the stairs.

We quickly packed and then raced down the stairs (she won again, of course), joining everyone on the sofa.
