When my alarm went off, I was pulled from a beautiful dream and I didn't want it to end. I sighed unhappily as the images faded from my mind and just like every other dream, it vanished from my memory. I yawned and stretched my slender body out, eyeballing my alarm clock and then turning it off. I had set it early enough for me to take a shower this morning. I pushed myself out of bed and down the hallway and once more into the bathroom. I showered daily, it was better and I felt cleaner that way.

I only took a twenty minute long shower this time, all the most important stuff I had dealt with in my shower the night before this morning. As I wrapped the towel around my waist I heard a loud knocking on the bathroom door. I glanced in the direction of the dark wood.

"Jamison, hurry up! I need to take a shower too ya know!" Eve was yelling from the otherside of the door. I opened it up and gave her a silent glare.

"Shut up." I hissed. "You'll wake mom." She just rolled her eyes at me and I shook my head, pushing past her. She walked into the bathroom and shut the door behind her. I moved slowly down the hallway, a little tired and back into my room. I pulled on my dark denim skinny jeans and a plain grey shirt and didn't bother putting on a sweatshirt today. It was supposed to be warm today anyways. I slipped my socks and shoes. I put my journal in my messenger bag and walked downstairs, starting a pot of coffee and making sure we had icecubes in the freezer.

"So what was your sister yelling about?" I heard a tired voice and turned to face mom. I bit my lip awkwardly. She looked absolutely exhausted. I wondered if she even got any sleep last night.

"Apparently I was taking too long in the shower." I explained. She nodded and leaned against the kitchen counter. She had dark circles under her eyes and I gently took her hand. "Mom, you need to go back to sleep." I told her. She hadn't been getting much sleep recently due to dad having to take more hours. It really hurt her that he was gone so much.

"I'm fine." She told me and I shook my head, about to argue. "I'll go back to bed when you guys leve okay?" Mom told me and I slumped a little nodding. She took my head in her hands and kissed my forehead before slipping into the living room. I heard the TV turn on and I shook my head. Poor mom. My coffee was soon ready and I got a coffee cup and put in my sugar and cream then added ice, sipping slowly at my ice coffee as I waited for my sister. Soon, she came down and motioned for me to follow.

"Let's go." She pressed, grabbing her car keys off the counter and outside. I tagged along and climbed in the passenger side, ready to start the day.

.........................................

Aiden was still suspended from school from having fought Michael yesterday. He was going to be in school Friday the eighth though, the day before prom. I climbed back into my sister's car when the school day came to a close and bit my lip nervously, drumming my fingers on the arm rest.

"Do we really have to go prom shopping?" I asked her. Her eyes snapped to me quickly, in a glaring fashion and I looked away quickly, folding under her steady gaze.

"Yes because, A) I need my prom dress and B) you need a tuxedo." She told me simply, turning the car on and pulling it out of the Manchester High parking lot. I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest and staring out the window. I still wasn't too excited about having to wear a tux. They were so formal and I was not a formal person. I leaned back in the leather seat, my eyes still trained out the window and she turned on her music.

"I don't understand why we have to be formal? Why can't everyone just dress normal?" I was still complaining about the fact that I was going to have to wear a tux.

"Keep it up and I'll shave you bald overnight." Eve warned. I went wide-eyed but remained silent the rest of the car ride. We went all the way to Indianapolis, the capital of our lovely state, Indiana. She forced me to go into Lillian's which was only the biggest dress shop ever. I mean there was one in the city just outside of our small little town but it certainly wasn't as big as the one here in Indy.

I groaned as I walked in, seeing nothing but dresses. Eve was going crazy, bouncing and weaving her way up and down aisles and I took a seat on one of the available seats near the dressing rooms. I pulled my phone out and saw a text from Aiden. I laughed a little at the words.

Eve told me you were shopping for prom. I feel bad for you. lol. I chuckled, nodding at the words before shooting him a quick text back.

We're at Lillian's in Indianpolis....she's gone completely insane I swear. My attention was pulled away after I hit send after my sister gently smacked my upside the head.

"Jamie! Are you even listening to me?" I frowned a little.

"Were you talking?" I asked seriously. She groaned and nodded, crossing her arms and pouting. I had completely zoned her out then. Oops. My bad.

"Anyways, I asked what color you thought I suited best." She told me. I got up and I looked at the arrange of colors in Lillian's. The dresses were separated by color and the rows looked like a giant snaking rainbow of fabrics. I leaned on one foot and thought for a second.

"Purple." I told her. She quickly left my side and I sat back down on the fluffy chair. I pulled my phone out again.

Good luck with that. My mom's got me doing stuff. I'm gonna have to talk later, Jamie. Talk to you later. :) I smiled at his text and shot one last one back before putting my phone back in my pocket.

Bye, Aiden! Talk to you later. I shoved the phone in my jeans pocket just as Eve rushed past me with a variety of different colored purple dresses. She set them in my lap and grabbed one from the pile of like a thousand.

"Hold those." She told me and ran into the dressing room. Eve went through plenty of dresses, each that I thought were absolutely gorgeous and fit her perfectly but she was being very picky final I couldn't take it anymore.

"Eve! Let me just pick one out for you!" I pleaded. We had just wasted three hours in Lillian's and I was drained and hungry. She huffed as she stepped out in her normal everday clothes and handed me the last dress she tried on. She nodded slowly, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Fine." She told me. I smiled and went off, bringing her array of dresses with me. I went through the wide variety and settled on a princess styled dress, something that looked like it was out of Cinderella but instead of blue, it was a lavender color. It also had a hint of sparkle to it and when it caught the light just right it shined bright. I brought it back to her, holding it out to her.

"Try this one." I urged her. She eyeballed the dress with a hint of distaste but when I insisted, she took it into the dressing room and put it on. When she stepped out from behind the curtain I gasped. She looked even more beautiful than I had imagined she would be. I motioned for her to do a twirl for me and she did. I was grinning happily.

"Do you like it?" She asked. I went wide-eyed and looked at her like that was the stupidest question in the world.

"Like it? Eve! You look like a princess right out of a fairytale. I love it." I assured her gleefully. At first she didn't believe me but after a couple of minutes of eyeballing herself in the mirror she nodded in agreement.

"I do like this one." She admitted then went and changed back into her casual clothing. "Now-" she held the dress and grabbed her purse. "-we go rent you a tuxedo." She told me. I groaned, having completely forgot about it in the midst of dress shopping for her. We went through check out and I had to avoid, staring at the price but Eve swiped mom's card like it was nothing.

"I hope mom doesn't have a corinary for how much it costs." I told my sister as we slipped back into te car. She just shrugged and started the car up to go.

"Mom said I could spend whatever I wanted. She said she'd 'make it happen' for the both of us." She started driving and I just nodded, watching the streets. It was already dark and the lights of the city were brightly shining through the car windows. I yawned and lowered myself in the seat and soon we found ourselves at a tuxedo shop. I groaned and climbed out with her and she ushered me inside quickly. Course there wasn't much to chose aside from color. It all looked the same to me. I headed for a white tux cause it was the only thing different in this building.

"No!" Eve gasped, grabbing my arm. "Save white for the wedding." She pressed and I grumbled, nodding. She found me a black tux and a baby blue tie and vest for underneath the jacket part. She smiled, once we were finished and honestly when I tried it on I felt uncomfortable. Class was apparently not my thing but she still insisted. So we went home that night with a princess gown and something I wanted to call a waste of money.
