As soon as I hang up on Madi, Owen calls me.

"Dude."

"What now? Did Bindi try to eat one of your hats again?"

"What? No! I'm talking about that girl that you were just completely flirting with."

"Kenedi?"

"Oohhh Kenedi. Kenedi and Charlie. Kenedi Gillespie. Kenedi and Charlie Gillespie."

"Is there something you wanted or are you just calling to be a dick?"

"Oh yeah. I wanna hear everything about this Kenedi."

"Well there's not much to tell."

"It's obvious she likes you, dude."

"She likes Luke not me."

"But you are Luke."

"Yeah I guess, but Luke and Charlie are two different people. I could never be as badass as Luke."

"You literally have feelings for a girl you just met. That sounds kinda badass to me."

"I never said I have feelings for her."

"Are you denying it?"

"Well...no."

"Okay point taken then. But seriously. Tell me about her."

"All I really know is what Madi has told me about her. I'm waiting for her to dm me her number."

"She hasn't done that yet?"

"Nope. Should I dm her first?"

"Maybe she's waiting until you dm her so she knows you'll get her message. Or maybe she forgot. Or maybe she's taking to Madi about you." I snort shaking my head.

"Why would she talk about me?"

"Why are you running away to Montana together?"

"What?"

"It's all over tiktok that you two are running away to Montana where you'll elope and live on a blueberry farm."

"Huckleberry."

"Dude what?" He starts laughing and I roll my eyes looking at tiktok. It's literally all over my for you page.

"How do people even come up with this? We're literally gonna just travel over the summer and Montana is one of the places we're going. We're gonna go to Yellowstone."

"Dude. You won't even take me hiking, but you're gonna spend the whole summer with her?"

"Yeah."

"You're in so deep. You love her!"

"What? No I don't. Don't be an idiot."

"The only one being an idiot here is you because you won't make a move. You could literally have any girl that you want and the one you do want, you won't even try."

"SHE JUST SENT ME HER NUMBER!"

"Well yeah, but she doesn't have to know that. You said it not me." I roll my eyes sighing then smile watching the video she sent me. She's so cute. "What did she say?"

"She sent me a tiktok a while ago saying I mean more to her than chicken nuggets."

"I'm just saying now, I better be invited to the wedding."

"You're an ass."

"Oh I know. Madi just texted me asking if we're on the phone."

"Don't respond. If she knows that we are, she'll wanna know what we're talking about."
