Chapter Twenty

"Okay now that I've finished explaining what happened with Owen, can we please talk about the hickeys on your neck, Kenedi? Like oh my god. What did Charlie do to you?!" I bite my lip gently touching some of the bruises.

"Well...I may or may not be in a relationship now." They both squeal making me laugh. "He told me he loves me, guys."

"But you two said that since you first spoke." I roll my eyes at Heer. She always has to be realistic.

"Yeah, but he told me he's in love with me." They both aw making me sigh contently. "He said he wants to marry me and adopt teenagers with me and he wants to sing a song to me at our reception and everything. It was literally so perfect until Owen called."

"Why? What was happening when he called?" I bite my lip just looking at Sofia. "Holy shit!"

"What? I'm so lost." I laugh at Heer sticking my feet into the water.

"Well...things were intense. Let's just leave it at that." Heer gasps then slaps her mouth.

"You were about to do the nasty?!" I shrug giggling.

"I mean I think so. If Owen hadn't called, I don't know how far we would have gone. I want his first time to be special and I don't think that if we had done it, it would've been special."

"Why does it matter if it's special?" I hesitate wondering if I should answer Sofia's question. She notices my hesitation and gasps. "No way."

"That's what Owen told me."

"Told you what?" I laugh at Heer. I love her, but she can be slow.

"He's a virgin." She gasps slapping her mouth. "I know. I was shocked too."

"So you have to make it special for him, Kenedi." Sofia claps her hands excitedly. "And I can help you get ready for it!" I roll my eyes giggling.

"Okay okay. But I never got the chance to tell him I'm in love with him too. I have to do that before we do anything."

"Why didn't you say it?"

"He just kept talking every time I tried to say it. I think he was nervous that he would lose the confidence to say it if he stopped talking." They both nod understandingly.

"Tell us more about what happened!"

"Like what?" I laugh at Heer not sure how far into detail I should go.

"Anything you want to tell us, girl." I smile lightly at Sofia.

"He kissed me so hard that my lips are still sore, guys. And everywhere he touched me, it felt like my skin was on fire. But like in a good way. I never wanted it to end."

"I can't wait to hear about when it happens. This was already special, but imagine how special it'll be if you make it special!" I smile lightly looking down at my feet in the water.

"I know that no matter what, it'll be amazing because it's with him. But hickeys feel good. I understand why people like them now. I honestly just wanted him to grab my throat and bite me." Sofia slaps her mouth making me raise my eyebrow at her.

The hairs on the back of my neck raise when I feel his lips pressed to the back of my neck. His hand reaches around me slowly, sitting just below my throat.

"All you had to do was ask for it, sunshine." I stop breathing for a second quickly ending the call. He chuckles lightly gently squeezing my throat while kissing down my neck.

I lay my head back against his shoulder closing my eyes. To keep myself somewhat calm, I start talking even though my voice keeps cracking.

"Did you help Owen?" He hums squeezing slightly harder. I whimper holding his wrist. He pulls away smirking at me and jumps into the water.
