Sometime after the Bradford incident (you know what I'm taking about if you've seen the episode), Raph was in his room reading an exciting comic book, the only source of light being his red lamp. It was late that night, and everyone else was asleep. Although he enjoyed the comic, his mind wandered to Mikey, who had been betrayed by Bradford after using him and revealing that he was with Shredder. Poor Mikey had never felt so crushed in his life. All he wanted was a friend, and now look what happened. Raph couldn't help but sigh at the thought. He didn't blame his youngest brother for wanting to make more friends besides April, but at the same time, he wasn't aware of the fact that not everyone was going to accept them. Who knows how long that'll take for it to finally be accepted into society?

Letting out another sigh, he turned his attention back to his comic. He was almost at the good part when a sniffle sounded. Raph tensed. Did he really hear it or was he just hearing things again? He strained his ears, listening hard. Sure enough, a few moments later, there came another sniffle. Deciding to go check it out, Raph set his comic down with a bookmark on the page to pick up where he left off later. Swinging his legs over the side of his bed, Raph got up and headed out of his room, entering the hallway. He first went to Mikey's room, but when he looked in, the youngest wasn't in there. The red banded turtle's concern grew when he heard the sound again. This time, it seemed to come from the TV pit. He headed there next, but not before grabbing a big, fluffy blue blanket just in case.

Arriving at the main area of the lair, he looked around for a bit and then found some sort of ball in the corner. Going over to it, he saw that the ball was actually Mikey. He was shaking as though he was cold, and he was clearly crying. Quietly, Raph knelt down in front of him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Mikey?" he asked in a whisper.

Said turtle slowly looked up from where he had his head in his arms. His baby-blue eyes looked shinier and even bluer from unshed tears, and their tracks marked his freckled face. That sight alone was almost enough to shatter Raph's heart, cutting him deep in the soul. Even though he'd given him good advice, and even after Mikey had unfriended Bradford, he still hadn't fully recovered from the utter foolishness he felt for thinking that he finally found a friend, only for that person to be nothing but a complete backstabber (figuratively). As for Mikey, seeing the look on Raph's face was enough for him to start crying again.

Raph opened his arms, preparing himself for the impact, and Mikey didn't hesitate to dive into them, almost knocking Raph backwards onto his shell as he buried his face into the hothead's plastron. Raph was able to steady himself and wrapped his arms around his baby brother in return, wanting nothing more than to help him recover from what he experienced. After a while, he pulled away, earning a small, sad whimper from Mikey. Smiling sadly, Raph just reached beside him, grabbed the blue blanket, and wrapped it around him, bundling him in a way that everything except his face was covered. He kind of looked like a blue blanket burrito. He then picked him up and carried him to the couch and sat down, placing Mikey into his lap while doing so. Mikey just cuddled closer, leaning into the hold while little whimpers and sobs escaped from him. Raph just tightened his arms around his baby brother in return, wanting him to know that it was okay; someday they will find friends who'll accept them. He closed his eyes and continued to hold his little blanket-bundled buddy, curling around him as if he could shield him from the cruel world with just his body alone.

They stayed that way until Mikey finally fell asleep. When Raph was sure that he was sleeping deeply, he got up from the couch, still holding the little turtle, and carried him up to his room, knowing that he wouldn't want to be alone tonight. There, he laid down and pulled the covers over them both, Mikey still wrapped up in his arms. "Goodnight, baby brother," the hothead whispered as he to began to fall asleep. "I'll be right here in the morning."

The picture that eventually inspired me to someday write this is cute (and I finally have it on here). It's one of Mikey wrapped in a blue blanket, and he's clearly crying from what happened in the episode. Meanwhile, Raph is with him, holding him in his lap. It's just so cute I've really wanted a fanfiction story to go with it.

    Merry Christmas, everyone!
