Lacy had locked herself in her room for hours, refusing to even step a foot outside, she was scared of herself and this so called new 'school' that nobody had ever heard of before. Her blonde hair was scattered around her head as she stared up at her ceiling, her arms spread out on her bed as she ignored any attempts of anyone trying to get in.
This one time, she was off on one of her adventures, when she had saw a little baby robin bird hurt, it's wing was damaged and it couldn't fly up to its family, that was tweeting away in a tree above her.
She had held the robin in her hands as she whispered some comforting words to it, placing her hand above the cut as she attempted to give it some warmth, there was a strange sound before the little robin began to tweet randomly to her. It wiggles around till the point that she had to move her hands, and the robin then flyers away to the nest, completely healed.
Randomly and out of the blue.
Unlike most muggle norms, she was never angry, she never threw a tantrum. She was often peaceful and wanted to help wildlife, so how could she see the signs if they were never there? Apparently, they were. Because her mother somehow knew about them.
"Lacy?" Another voice tried, and she let out a sigh as she recognised her uncles voice, she attempted to her off her bed, only to trip and fall to the ground.
The three adults on the other side questioned the thumping sound instantly, and the door sprung open randomly, causing her mother and uncle to glance at the wooden stick in Severus's hand.
"You fell off your bed" Her uncle concluded as he saw his niece on the floor, and she sent him a sheepish grin, he sighed at her. "Come on, let's go get that flower shall we, it would make a lovey addition to your book"
"Why? There's something wrong with me" Lacy replied on a small voice, dragging her legs up to her body as she leaned against her bed and rested her chin on her knees.
Her mother instantly fell to the ground in front of her and held onto the girls knees with sad eyes, "there's nothing wrong with you Lacy, this just makes you more special than us-muggles? I think he said"
"I don't want to be special, I want to be normal, like dad" Lacy responded as she glanced at the picture on her desk, and the man in the doorway tensed up at that.
"Your dad would be proud of you" Her mother comforted her, soothing out a few strands that stuck out on her daughters head, and her daughter finally met her eyes with a somewhat hopeful expression.
"Is there other people like me?"
"Yes, thousands" Her mother responded with a heartwarming smile, before she tilted her head over to the man in the doorway. "How do you think we got in, Severus is a professor at the school"
"Really?" Lacy eyes filled up with a wondrous expression as she looked at the man, "what subject do you teach?"
"Potions" He responded curtly, with a short nod. He seems uncomfortable after seeing the child so sad, her uncle seemed to be holding in a laugh next to him, wanting to laugh at the strangers uncomfortable expression.
Lacy turned back to her mother and latches onto her hands, "there's a potions class?!" Her mind seemed to fill up with so many questions at once, causing both her uncle to let out a laugh as he watched the scene unravel itself, this was going to be a wild few years.
"What animal would you like to have Lacy?" Her mother questioned as they walked down the strange road with all the magical shops, Snape acting as their guide so he could help them when needed, but they seemed to have it under control.Unlike everybody else.
"An owl, so I can keep in touch with you and Zach" Lacy grinned up at her mother, who let out a soft expression in response, suddenly feeling emotional at the thought of her leaving. "No tears mum, we need to try and get the cutest owl in there!"
"I don't know much about owls" Her mother responded as they walked inside the shop, that was filled to the brim with; frogs, owls, cats and rats. It was a strange mix, but the all seemed cute to Lacy.
"Oh look mum, they've got a wide range." Lacy pointed in the owl section of the shop, where they all were perfected on the edges on their posts, and she began to point out the breeds "snow owl, barn owl, tawny owl, a true owl... oh, look at those two snow owls, they're gorgeous"
"Would you like one of the snowy owls?" Her mother questioned, pointing at the two white owls who sat patiently, one boy and one girl.
"I would hate for them to be separated" Lacy frowned at the thought, she hated it when animals had to part with their family, like a cat's litter and such.
Then, a big and tall man came into the shop, requesting for an owl from the shop keeper, and Lacy smiled as she watched the man come near them.
"Snape" The tall giant nodded politely at the man dressed in all black, and Lacy smiled as the guy glanced at her and her mother. "And who are these?"
"I'm Lacy Williams, pleasure!" She introduced herself, holding her hand out politely, and her mother greeted the man as well.
"Well, I'm Rubeous Harris, gamekeeper of Hogwarts" He smiled down at the girls, and Lacy suddenly got an idea.
"Are you looking for an owl? Because I was just looking at these sibling owls, and I would hate to part them, but if they both went to Hogwarts, they'd see each other anyway!" Lacy schemed, and with that, Harris agreed and they both bought one of the owls.
