"Oh my god!" Ruth screamed out at the sight of the beat up girls with smoke all over them, Sylvia grinned sheepishly at the worried woman as Lacy refused to look anyway but up. "What happened?"

"The Burrow was attacked by the death eaters" Sylvia clarified, before she sent a slight glare in Lacy's direction. "And she decided to go running after them with Harry" Making Ruth gasp as she looked towards her daughter.

"I had to make sure he and Ginny were safe!" Lacy defended as her head snapped up to Sylvia's direction, before she noticed a figure lingering in the kitchen doorway, making her eyes darken unnaturally. "Why is Professor Snape here?" The name almost made the potions professor flinch.

"Severus was invited to dinner, remember? The one you snuck away from?" Ruth quizzed, before she sighed at the two girls. "How about you both go wash up, you'll need to take some rest after what you've been through"

"Especially after Lacy healed people from their burns" Sylvia added on with nonchalant, making Lacy glare even harder as Ruth gasped yet again.

"I told you not to sue those powers until you had learnt what they were" Ruth strictly spoke, making Lacy look at her with the closest eyes anyone had ever seen her with.

"And you told me that my real father was dad, but I guess we're all liars now" Lacy snapped, before she let out a deep breath and glanced at the man dressed in black, her eyes slightly faltering to a despaired expression before she placed on a fake face and stormed off towards the stairs, wanting to be away from it all.

Ruth watched Lacy run away with a heartbroken expression, she truly thought she had lost her daughter. Snape had no type of emotion written on his face as usual, while Sylvia was frowning at the unspoken drama this family seemed to hold.

"She'll come around Ruth" Sylvia reassured the woman, running her arm slightly as she passed her, sending a sly glare to Snape as she followed in Lacy's footsteps.

"What's that?" Sylvia questioned Lacy as she held on to a piece of random paper, the girl seems to be re-reading it over and over again. "Is it from Harry?"

"It's from Blaise" Lacy smiles softly as she looked down at the note he had sent to her.

Dear Lace,

Merry Christmas, I miss you, I think we all secretly do (even Draco). It felt unordinary without you and I really wish I could just see your smile right now, it would certainly brighten up my mood.

I heard from Pansy and she is probably the most miserable I have ever heard her to be, she misses Sylvia massively (I think they do love each other).

Anyway, the point was is that I wanted you to know that I miss you and to tell you that even with everything going on, I will always secretly be with you. I hope you enjoy the necklace I bought you (it's in the envelope).

Love, Blaise.

"What's the necklace then?" Sylvia asked eagerly after she had read the letter herself, she seems to be bouncing from her seat as she scrubbed off the ashes on her hands with a wet flannel.

Lacy tilted the envelope to the side so the necklace fell out into her palm, and she let out a small sob when she saw what it was, slowly lifting it up so Sylvia could see it too. "A butterfly"

"Like..." Sylvia trailed off as she already knew why he had gotten her it, Lacy had told herself, Pansy and Blaise instantly after she had learned how to produce the spell, she was so happy that Blaise had practically memorised the moment.

"Like my patronus" Lacy grinned, lifting the necklace up and clipping the chain together around her neck, letting it fall just above her chest, she smiled happily at Sylvia, who mood improving massively from before.
