"You—what?" Hermione tripped up on her words as she stared with wide eyes at the blonde haired witch in front of her, who nodded with just as much energy as she flipped another page from the book she was absorbing. "What made you think that?"
"Well, S—Pads has accidentally let slip a few times that I'm nothing like my dad, and my dad would have never if met anyone from The snuffles gang because he started fighting in the war when he was 17, meaning....he's not my real dad" Lacy responded smartly, "plus, the only people I know who had escorts to Diagon Alley is Harry, Rosie Deaver and me...."
Hermione nodded slowly as she pieced it together as well. "But how exactly are you going to manage to find who your real dad is?" Huh, Lacy hadn't thought that far ahead yet.
"I'll owl my mum first to see if she cracks, if not, my only options are snuffles or Snape....because they definitely know something..." Lacy let out her thoughts to one of her closest friends, who immediately nodded in agreement as she grabbed the blondes hand to give it a small squeeze.
"I will be here to help you every step of the way Lace, I won't stop until you find your answers" Hermione promised her blonde haired friend, before she picked one of the books from Lacy's pile. "And I'll start right now"
"I wish there was a stupid shortcut to be able to speed up the progress, but I guess writing a letter would be the easiest thing to do" Lacy mused before she reached forward and grabbed an empty piece of parchment that wasn't fully of her scruffy handwriting, she grabbed her quil out of the ink pot before she started to write her letter, only for Hermione to reach forward and grab her hand quickly.
"I have an idea...." Hermione let out, before she glanced around to make sure nobody was around to hear. "We need a private place, do you know one?"
"Of course"
"Rosie!" Lacy yelled out as she caught sight of the Brunette haired witch, who looked up in a panic when someone she barely knew was calling out her name, but from the look of an out of breath Hermione behind, she knew that Lacy knew the secret now. "Rosie!"Lacy continued to run despite any weird looks she got from anyone around, her bag bouncing as she eagerly reached towards the girl who knew everything. She smiled greatly when she stopped in front of the girl.
"Hi" Lacy let out in a small huff, "Hermione said you would help me if I asked nicely enough, I mean, I think it's up to you but I wanted to ask anyway...so, please can you help me?" Lacy suddenly became sheepish, this could determine if she found out who her true biological father was.
Rosie rose an eyebrow at Hermione as she finally arrived at the pair, and she saw the apologetic look on the girls face before she turned back to Lacy, future bright yet dim because of the losses she would face during the war and she knew the kind spirit would be crushed, so, she caved in. "Alright, there's a tree in the library, hidden away in a corner and it has three initials carved into it, one is Lily Potter the others you'll have to work out on your own"
Lacy smiled greatfully, "thank you so much Rosie, you have no idea how thankful I am that you gave me even a hint towards who my dad is" And without a warning, she dragged Rosie into a hug quickly before she began to run off again, without Hermione.
Hermione smiled at Rosie sharply before she began to run after the blonde hair again. "Lacy! Calm down already!"
