For the first time ever when she got onto the Hogwarts Express, well, expect for the first year. Lacy Williams went on without Pansy, Draco and Blaise.
A part of her felt broken as she glanced down the hallway to the Slytherin's section on the train, but she shoved her own head down and tugged Sylvia towards a free carriage, suddenly feeling as though she wanted to curl up and cry.
On top of all that, she had to switch Hogwarts Houses and try to avoid her 'father' still as she had no idea how to speak to him. She didn't even know if he knew himself, but after a long conversation with her mother, the signs all pointed to yes. Which seemed worse in a way.
Sylvia was gripping on to Lacy's hand with such a grip that she had thought the girl was trying to rip off her limb. They sat together, leaning their heads on top of each other's as they stared blankly at the empty carriage around them, neither one stating how bad they both felt.
"Do you loose your prefect badge?" Sylvia asked Lacy as her head rested on the blonde girls shoulder, Lacy hadn't thought of that.
"No" Lacy gulped for a minute, "they can't choose another person for the job and they're already picking out new ones in Ginny's year" She explained quickly, at least she'd still be a prefect. The only downside was that Draco Malfoy was the other Slytherin prefect and she'd end up patrolling the halls with him at some point.
"Wonder who will get head girl next year" Sylvia mused sarcastically.
"Hermione Granger" Lacy smiled proudly, she was happy that her friend would end up with the position, she deserved it after all the hard work she has ever done. "She's the smartest in our year and she definitely deserves it better than anyone else, after everything that's going on, I think she needs to be rewarded with a little good. Besides, name a person better than the role than Hermione"
"I can't think of anyone better" Sylvia nods slowly, "you'd be good, but I can't disagree with you"
The two girls sent each other matching grin before they began to play with each other's hands, Lacy grinned when she noticed Sylvia wearing the ring her mother had given the girl for her birthday. "You're wearing the ring mum gave you?" Not noticing how she had referred to Ruth as both of their mother.
"Of course" Sylvia grinned as she looked down at the golden ring that rested on her finger, with a beautiful alexandrite stone, as it was her birth months stone. "It's one of the best gifts I've ever gotten" she states fondly down at the ring with a smile on her lips, summer had bees the happiest time of her life and she owed it all to the Williams's.
"There isnt any way that I could be paid to deal with Malfoy's foul mood" The door was burst open as someone came in with a growing tone, he was shaking his head and tutting as he walked over for the opposite place beside them, the girls stared at him in shock. "Oh please, you think that just because I'll most likely be forced to be a death eater that I wasn't going to talk to you guys?"
"Hi Theo" Lacy grinned at her brunette friend who sat down in the seat, ruffling his hair slightly as it got in his eyes.
He sat back against the cause and grinned at the pair, "Hi girls. This summer sucked without you guys coming over and eating all my food" Lacy laughed at him as Sylvia quickly shook her head with a slight smile that she tried to hide from them.
