I ran up the stairs to my bedroom, slamming the door and leaning my back against it as I tried to process everything that had happened in the last few hours.

"Fucking hell." I whispered to myself. I pushed myself off the door and quickly made my way to the desk to grab a piece of parchment. "S O FUCKING S!!!" I wrote on the piece of parchment before handing it to my owl, Leila, and instructing her to deliver it to Hermione.

I sat by my desk for nearly an hour, my knee bouncing impatiently as I waited for a response from Hermione. There was a knock at my door and then the sound of my mother's voice, "Gemma? Can I come in?"

"Yeah!" I called back, making my way from my desk to the edge of my bed as my mother entered.

"I see what you did there." I said before my mum could speak. "What did you owl to Narcissa when you suggested Draco come?"

"Just that it could be fun to get together with the kids." My mother shrugged, taking a seat on my bed. "Turned out to be much more interesting than I think any of us were expecting, thanks to you."

I blushed slightly, looking down at my hands, "Well, I certainly wasn't planning on sharing."

"Oh honey, why didn't you tell me you and Draco have been sleeping together?" My mother asked.

"I mean, it's kind of weird. And it's definitely weird that I decided to just let it be known, but at least it was funny." I said with a chuckle before looking at my mother with a more serious expression. "I don't even know why I decided to share. I think I just wanted to get a reaction out of him."

"Well, Narcissa and I are definitely rooting for the two of you." My mother said, making me blush. "And you should tell him how you feel, if you didn't after the two of you went to the garden. That boy definitely feels the same way."

"How can you be so sure?" I asked her.

"You don't see it, do you? Well, for starters, he seemed pleased to hear you don't have feelings for Blaise. Then there's the way he would watch you while we were all in the sitting room. Narcissa said she hasn't seen him so at ease in months."

I bit my lower lip, trying to hide my smile. "Well, I guess you sort of know why it's complicated now."

"Well that's what I don't get." My mother said. "I have no desire to hear about the sex life between you and Draco, but if you have that going for you, why is having feelings for him so complicated?"

"Because there weren't meant to be any feelings! It was just supposed to be simple and...meaningless." I grimaced, knowing I was making myself out to be a slut in front of my mother.

To my surprise, she only smirked, placing a hand on my shoulder, "Oh honey, that's what I thought about your father too."

I looked at her in shock, my jaw hanging slightly. "Wait. Wait, what? You always made it seem like you and dad had some great love story!"

"Well, we did. And we still do." She nodded. "But it didn't start off by him making big romantic gestures. Obviously, I wasn't going to tell my children how things actually started between us. All I'm saying is, I've been in your position. And sometimes taking that leap of faith is so worth it."

I thought about what my mother said, still trying to process the fact that her and dad, the ones I had heard countless romantic stories about, had a similar start as Draco and me. I was about to tell her what happened between us while we were in the garden when I heard the doorbell chime. "Who is that?" I asked my mum, who just shrugged and got up to check it out.

I followed behind her, shocked when I saw a frantic Hermione standing at the door.

"Are you okay?!" She asked, out of breath. "I got your owl and came as fast as I could."
