"How are you today?" I asked as I sat down beside Draco for breakfast.
"Fine." He mumbled, pushing his eggs around his plate with the tip of his fork. I stared at him, waiting for him to say something more, but he didn't.
I sighed, turning my eyes to the table in search of bacon. "You should apologize to Blaise." I murmured before biting into a piece of bacon.
"You should mind your own business." Draco snapped, dropping his fork down, the sound of it clattering against his plate making me flinch.
"What happens between my boyfriend and my best friend is my business." I said, raising an eyebrow at Draco. "Especially since you were being rude when he was around me."
"For fuck's sake, Gemma. Must you always be on my case about something?" Draco grumbled, swiftly standing up from the table. I pursed my lips together as Draco hurried out of the Great Hall. The way he was treating me stung, but I'd have to hide it until I could get him alone later.

I was in the Great Hall once again, my knee bopping up and down impatiently as I kept my eyes trained at the entrance, waiting for Draco to come down to dinner.
"You going to eat?" Blaise asked me, raising an eyebrow at me.
"No." I said, pushing myself up from the table. I walked quickly to the dungeons, my body buzzing with frustration. I wasted no time in going straight up the stairs to Draco's room, throwing the door open to find him just casually lounging on his bed.
His eyes shot over to the door, his face pulling together in a perplexed expression. "What's the matter with you?'
"No, Draco. What is the matter with you?" I snapped at him, crossing my arms over my chest.
Draco just rolled his eyes. looking up at the ceiling, and saying, "You need to chill out, Brooks." He mumbled emotionlessly.
I felt something snap inside of me as he addressed me by my last name. "Do not call me Brooks!" I exclaimed so suddenly and loudly that it nearly came out as a shriek. The piercing sound of my voice took Draco by surprise, making him flinch as his eyes widened and settled on my face. "I am not Brooks to you. I am your girlfriend and you will show me some goddamn respect."
Draco sat up slowly, swinging his legs off of the mattress so that he was sitting at the edge of the bed. He watched me for a moment, me huffing out a breath in annoyance. "Come here." He finally said.
"What?" I asked, giving him a look of exasperation.
"Come here." He repeated, raising an eyebrow at me as if to say, 'Are you really going to argue with me?'
I pursed my lips together as I reluctantly went to stand before Draco, my arms still crossed over my chest. Draco sighed at me, as if I was being childish, and pulled me closer to him. Just when I thought he was going to wrap his arms around me in a hug, he instead dragged me onto his lap so that I was now straddling him on the bed. Instead of speaking to me, he began kissing my neck.
"Stop it." I said quickly, shoving a hand abruptly against his chest. "Are we actually going to talk, or do you just want to fuck me?"
Draco groaned, looking up at me in exasperation. "Who said I can't want to do both?"
"It would be great if you did but you've barely spoken to me since we got off of the Hogwarts Express for Easter and it's getting old." I said, narrowing my eyes at him.
Draco groaned, dramatically too, and flopped down onto the bed. He ran his hands down his face, huffing out a breath. I watched him closely, seeing that he seemed to be internally fighting with himself. As if he were genuinely debating which personality he wanted to pull out. When he propped himself up on his elbows, a look other than annoyance was on his face. I couldn't be sure what it was because it wasn't apologetic, but it definitely held less of an edge to it.
