While I was sitting in the Great Hall for lunch, Leila flew in with a letter that I could only assume to be from my mother.

Excuse me little missy, that was one heck of an update with no other information attached! I have so many questions such as is he your boyfriend now? Does his mother know? Do you love him too? Did you say it back? You are torturing your poor mother with such minimal information!

I won't say anything to your father or Narcissa until I hear back from you. Oh I'm sure she'll be so pleased! As for your father, well, who knows with him. He'll be fine. I guess we'll finally find out just how serious he was about the whole 'I have to give the man my blessing first' thing. Write me back soon!

I love you and miss you darling,

Mum xx

I laughed when I read all of the questions my mom had asked, shaking my head slightly. But now that she brought it to my attention, I really had no idea whether Draco has or was planning on telling his mother that we're together. I know he's close with her, but that doesn't automatically mean he's jumping to tell her updates like these. As for my father, the thought of writing him a letter to let him know I have a boyfriend made me internally cringe.

"What's so funny?" Draco asked, trying to peer over my shoulder.

"Just a letter from my mother." I said with a small smirk. "I sort of told her about us and now she has a bunch of questions."

"When did you tell her?" Draco asked, his eyes peering up to eye all the owls flying in almost as if he was now expecting to get a letter too.

"This morning. If you're worried about her telling your mum, she wouldn't say anything without knowing that she already knew." I said, watching him to gauge his reaction towards that.

"Oh." Draco nodded a bit, his eyes going back to me. "Yeah, I haven't exactly told her much. I don't know how my dad would react."

"My mum told me she wasn't going to say anything to mine, so I guess that's on me." I said with a nod. I knew that Draco's father was definitely different from my own. I could tell that the idea of his father knowing made him uncomfortable and I couldn't help but wonder if my family were blood traitors in the eyes of his father and if that was why. "You don't think they'd approve?" I asked carefully.

"My mother most definitely would. She told me that she liked you when we left your house over break. I think after we left our mums in the sitting room that day they were already planning our future." Draco chuckled before his face dropped slightly. "It's my father that I'm concerned about. He can be a difficult man. I mean, he'd be pleased that you're a pureblood, but things are a little, uh, complicated right now with certain circumstances..." Draco sighed, "Maybe I should tell mum."

"Well, on the bright side, my mother seems to be very excited about it." I said, bumping my shoulder against Draco's. "In fact, I think she might explode if I don't give her more details soon. She wasn't too amused by my one sentence update."

"Oh, and what might that have been? I can only imagine after you exposed yourself at tea." Draco asked with a smirk.

I could feel myself blush as I looked down at the letter in my hands. "Well, I kind of skipped the boyfriend/girlfriend update and went straight to the whole Draco told me he loves me."

Now it was Draco's turn to blush a deep red. He looked down at his hands, shaking his head slowly with a small chuckle. "You really operate in a different way."

"In my defense, I needed to tell someone! And I hadn't given her an update in a while."

"Oh, so you didn't tell Granger this morning then?" Draco asked, raising an eyebrow.
