I woke up earlier than normal but decided to just get ready and head to the Great Hall for breakfast instead of trying to go back to sleep. I smiled when I saw Hermione already seated at the Gryffindor table.
"Good morning." I said, dropping down beside her.
"Wow, Gemma Brooks in the Great Hall before its even half full?" Hermione said, looking impressed. "It's a good thing, really, because you've got some talking to do! I cannot believe Draco kissed you on the train yesterday!"
"Believe me, neither can I." I said with a chuckle. "And then he said he wanted to be my boyfriend, so I guess that makes it official."
"And where is your boyfriend now?" Hermione asked with a smirk.
"I'm not sure." I shrugged, "Not here so I guess maybe still in his dorm?"
"You didn't wait to see if he wanted to walk to the Great Hall together?" Hermione asked.
"Was I supposed to do that? Is that what couples do??" The idea hadn't even crossed my mind considering I always just worked on my own schedule.
"For all you know, he could be in the common room right now waiting for you to come down." Hermione said with a chuckle.
I groaned, shaking my head slightly. "I don't know how to be a girlfriend. I am really happy knowing that he likes me back and that I'm his girlfriend now, but I don't know how to act. I don't know how he'd want me to act. This whole affection thing between us is new! I'm even more confused now."
"Well that's something that you two are going to have to figure out together. You can talk to him about it and find out what he wants and is comfortable with or you can just go with it and see how it plays out." Hermione said as she buttered a piece of toast. The Great Hall was filling up now. I was about to get up to go over to the Slytherin table when Ginny plopped down across from us.
"You!" She said, pointing a finger at me. "What the hell? You and Draco Malfoy?! Spill. Now."
"Good morning to you too, Ginny." I chuckled. "There's not much too tell, it sort of just...happened, I guess."
"It sort of just happened?" She asked, looking at Hermione then back at me. "So Draco Malfoy just waltzed into our train compartment and decided to kiss you at random? That I do not believe, especially since Hermione here didn't seem shocked at all."
"Well, I mean, I knew he liked me. But I definitely wasn't expecting him to kiss me. He wasn't even my boyfriend at the time. That became a thing after we left the compartment." I said with a small shrug.
"You are giving me crumbs, woman! Crumbs!" Ginny exclaimed in exasperation. "Where is your boyfriend now?"
I just shrugged once again, chuckling to myself at how worked up she was getting.
"What if he's in the common room waiting for you and you're just sitting here pretending to be a Gryffindor?" Ginny asked.
I sighed, looking from her to Hermione. "That's what Hermione said too. Is there some unwritten rule that I didn't know about that says you're supposed to walk to breakfast with your boyfriend??"
Ginny was about to say something more when Hermione piped in and said, "There he is now. Seems like he's looking for you."
I looked up, seeing Draco looking around the Great Hall before his eyes landed on mine. His eyebrows knitted together a bit in what was probably confusion, but then he just went and sat down at the Slytherin table.
"Not even a smile?" Ginny scoffed, shaking her head. "You two really don't know how to be a couple."
"Oh, shut up." I said, rolling my eyes with a laugh. "I'll figure it out eventually. I think that's my cue to go to my own table. I'll see you guys later."
