"Draco?" I called out quietly as I walked into the Room of Requirement. Normally I would never go looking for him in the Room of Requirement since he'd made it clear that he was working on something and didn't want me near the situation, but today I was feeling particularly uneasy and just needed to see him.

I took a few more steps before I saw Draco rushing towards me. He grabbed me by my arm and immediately started leading me back towards the door. "What are you doing here?" He hissed, stopping short of the door. "You need to leave."

"I'm sorry." I said quietly, looking up at him. "I just needed to see you."

"You need to go. Now." Draco said, his face set in a serious expression but I could see panic in his eyes.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"GO!" Draco shouted, giving me a small shove towards the door.

I gasped slightly in surprise, staring at Draco with wide eyes. He'd never yelled at me in such a way before and it honestly kind of scared me. I just nodded, quickly turning for the door. Draco suddenly grabbed me by my hand and pulled me back into him, crashing his lips against mine in a desperate, passionate kiss. "I love you." He murmured once he had pulled back.

"I love you too, Draco." I said, frowning slightly.

Draco pressed one more firm kiss against my lips then nudged me towards the door. "Go back to the common room." I heard him say as I left the Room of Requirement. I touched my lips lightly as I walked back towards the dungeons. Why did that kiss feel like a goodbye?

"Death eaters in the castle!" A voice suddenly cried out. My head snapped up and into the direction of the voice, seeing a frantic third year running into the common room. "There – there are death eaters in the castle!"

Everyone seemed to begin talking at once, people jumping up from their spots. As people began moving about frantically, I pushed my way out until I was in the hallway. Now that I was out of the common room, I realized I had no plan and no idea where to go. As I began running through the school, I heard yelling and sounds of things breaking. I followed the noise to find members I'd trained with in Dumbledore's Army as well as members of the Order dueling against Death eaters. I felt frozen for a moment, wondering if my parents were here, but then I caught a glimpse of Harry running out of the castle. My eyes snapped ahead of him to try to figure out where he was going when the action seemed to be here. That's when I saw Draco and Snape.

My legs began moving before I could fully process this decision. A voice in the back of my head was screaming that this was a bad idea and that I should not be following Harry. Despite this, my legs continued to run after him, leading me out of the castle and down towards Hagrid's hut. I could hear Harry yell something out, but I couldn't make out what he had said over the pounding of my own heart in my ears. I saw Snape and Draco turn to look at Harry, Snape pushing Draco towards the other Death eaters. I was within feet of reaching Harry when an explosion sounded and then Hagrid's hut lit up in flames.

"NO!!" I screamed out in horror as I watched the flames engulf the home. I clasped my hands over my mouth when I realized that I had acted without thinking. Draco immediately whipped around again at the sound of my scream, seeming to be frozen in his spot as he stared in my direction. The blaze of the fire allowed me to make out the look of fearful horror on Draco's face. I knew him well enough to know that he was feeling guilt and shame, but I had my wits about me now and held myself back from running to him.

"Go on." Snape called back to Draco. Draco hesitated for a moment before he turned to run after the others. I saw the shame burning in Draco's eyes as he looked at me one last time, making me think 'Oh, Draco, what did you do?'
