The weeks were passing by faster as the professors were assigning more work. It sometimes felt like I was drowning under all of the work, but the one thing getting me through was knowing that I'd be going home for Easter break soon. I knew that the professors would still assign reading and work to be turned in after the break, but without having to attend class as well that would be easier to manage and I'd get to take a little breather. I had only stayed at Hogwarts for one Easter out of my six years, and my mother was so disappointed that I promised her I'd never do it again. I'd invited Hermione to come home with me like she had a few years ago, but she decided she was going to stay back and catch up on school. I couldn't imagine her ever being behind, so I'm sure what she really meant was she wanted to get ahead.

My mother had written me to let me know that her parents would be coming to visit us during Easter. When we were younger, my mum's parents used to throw a big Easter party with extended family and family friends every year. That stopped around the time I had started attending Hogwarts. I knew my mum missed the Easter gatherings, even though there seemed to always be some sort of drama, and that was why she liked for Grant and I to come home.

Draco was also going home for Easter. He didn't say so, but I knew he was dreading it. He was a lot more stressed out lately and I suspected the thought of seeing his father, and who knows who else, had him feeling anxious.

My last few days before break, I spent as much time as I could physically handle getting work done. I wanted to get a head start on the assignments so that some of my break could be spent relaxing. Even as I sat on the Hogwarts Express with Draco, I was reading. He had fallen asleep, his head on my shoulder, so I didn't feel bad that I was trying to get through a hefty chunk of the DADA reading.

As the train slowly came to a stop, Draco jolted awake. I looked over at him as his head lifted off my shoulder, seeing his face darken in a scowl when he saw that we had arrived.

"Why didn't you wake me before we got here?" Draco asked me with a sigh.

"You needed the sleep." I said simply, brushing his hair back.

Students began gathering their belongings and getting off the train, but Draco remained seated. He stared down at his hands, playing mindlessly with his fingers.

"Draco, we have to get off." I said softly, taking one of his hands in mine. Draco audibly gulped before he nodded and stood up. He retrieved my bag from above, handing it to me before grabbing his own.

"Wait." He said as I began to pull open the compartment door. Draco pulled me to him, pulling me into a desperate yet passionate kiss. I melted into his touch, letting my lips linger against his a moment longer. "I love you."

"I love you too, Draco." I murmured, pulling back slightly. "Promise me you'll write when you can?"

"I promise." Draco said, pressing a kiss to my forehead. With that we deboarded the train, not even holding hands as we didn't know who would be watching. Draco and I both scanned the area, finding our mothers standing together with my brother waiting.

"Hello, darling." My mother said, immediately welcoming me with a hug. I smiled as I hugged her in return, feeling comforted just by being in her presence. After my mother had released me, Narcissa pulled me into a hug as well. I looked over her shoulder at Draco, who's scowl had softened to a small smile as he watched the exchange.

"Well, we better be off." Narcissa said, rubbing her son's shoulder warmly. "I'll see you soon." She said to my mother.

"Write me, okay?" I said to Draco, beginning to turn towards my mother. Draco grabbed my hand just as I had turned away, causing me to look back at him but before I could say anything, he pressed a gentle kiss to my lips.
