Things remained tense between Draco and I over the next couple of days. He seemed to be too stubborn to address the state of our relationship and how I'd left him on the cusp of finishing, and I was not going to be the one to give in and beg him to talk to me. We sat beside each other at meals, not speaking. I sat on the couch near him in the common room, not speaking. The one place he had where I wasn't was his bedroom.

Friday had finally come, and I was glad to be in my last class of the day. Although weekends could be painfully boring around here, my anger and frustration made it hard to care about sitting through classes. I didn't have this class with Draco, but I did have it with Blaise. Blaise looked like he was itching to talk to me, but he didn't make any attempts until class had ended and we were exiting the classroom.

"What the hell is going on between you and Draco?" Blaise quietly asked me.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I said, simply shrugging.

Blaise huffed out a breath, rolling his eyes. "Did you really slap him?" He asked.

I peered at Blaise out of the corner of my eye, my interest peaking as I realized I could finally learn what Draco had said about that situation. "What did he tell you guys?"

"He said that you were pissy and slapped him. Said you were probably on your period." Blaise admitted sheepishly.

"What a piece of shit." I muttered beneath my breath. For some reason, that was even worse than what I'd expected. He had zero reason to bring up the fact that I'd slapped him, he just wanted attention and to make me sound like some crazy bitch who couldn't control her hormones.

"What did he do?" Blaise asked, though it was more of him demanding I tell him. When I didn't speak, Blaise grabbed me by the arm so that I had to stop walking and turn to look at him.

"Blaise, it's not a big deal." I sighed.

Blaise's demeanor immediately changed, so I'm guessing my eyes gave me away. I had done an excellent job of keeping my guard up the last few days, especially when Draco was around, but it was harder for me to do so around Blaise. He wasn't the reason I was so set on this stubborn plan.

"Did he hurt you?" Blaise asked quietly, his eyes flashing with anger directed at the thought of Draco hurting me.

"He just – he was just being a dick." I finally said. "My hand reacted before my mouth did, I guess."

"He's been off lately." Blaise nodded in agreement. "But normally when he's in a mood he puts it behind him around you. I can feel the tension radiating off the two of you."

"I don't know what's going on with him." I sighed. "My attempts to get him to talk to me were futile, so I stopped asking. Now he's pissed off because I left him with blue balls to punish him for talking about me to those goons. And for Pansy being too close and chummy."

Blaise snorted out a chuckle, "You lured him away from her just to punish him for her clinginess? You're something else."

"He deserved it." I said with a shrug. "Two can play this game. I'm just hoping he cracks first, but I have to admit it's getting to me. I just wish I knew what happened. He's been acting like this since we were on the train to go home. I ended up spending the majority of the ride with Ginny, and when I returned to our compartment, he had put up this front and, well, he's been that way since."

"You don't think this is all because you didn't sit with him, do you? What about the ride back to school?" Blaise asked.

"I sat with Ginny and Grant. Didn't even see him till dinner." I said, chewing at my lower lip. "There's no way that if he were offended I sat with Ginny that he's still holding a grudge over that. I think something had to have happened while he was home. I just don't know how to get it out of him."
