Chapter 29 - The After Wave

"Xiaobai, I will always be right beside you. I won't let anyone take you away from me! I will pay back the pain that anyone has caused you!" he says then kisses her birthmark and closes his eyes.

As the two love birds slept away throughout the night, Fengjiu was drawn into the same nightmare over and over again. But this time it's only her subconscious that is playing with her mind. She wasn't actually getting attacked again, since Donghua had already severely injured the attacker and permanently sealed the entrance to Fengjiu's dreams. Now the only one that can enter her dream is Donghua himself.

But to her, they are all about the same since she still thinks it's just a regular nightmare as Donghua told her. Each time she rings her bells, Donghua never shows up to save her. She felt absolutely abandoned and scared each time. The man is forcing her to be his wife in a very cruel way. She feels like everything is all suffocating her slowly. "Why is this happening to me... is this punishment for me defying fate?" she asks herself in her mind as the nightmare keeps on replaying throughout the night.

This nightmare would never stop tormenting her. Each time she gets woken up, she would be in pain, drenched in sweats and tears cascading down her cheeks. Each time Donghua sees this sight he would feel pain in his heart as well like someone stabbed him with his Cang'he sword. He, rather be the one who is enduring all the pain for her than seeing her in this insanity. Each time he calms her down and puts her back to sleep, he is already exhausted. This feeling to him right now is way worse than the old days, fighting in endless bloody wars. Each time he slowly lies back down beside her, he tightly embraces her, giving her the security and comfort that she needs. But not long after the same nightmare will start again and everything feels like déjà vu.

"DONGHUA! DONGHUA! DONGHUA! HELP ME! DONGHUA!" she screams while springing up from the bed drenched in sweat and tears nonstop running down her cheeks. Donghua springs up to embrace her, calming her down. "Xiaobai what is it? Are you not feeling well?" he worryingly asks. "Donghua, he won't leave me alone... he keeps bothering me. The nightmare just keeps on replaying each time I close my eyes. Donghua makes it stop! Please make it stop." she cries and cries as tears soaking through Donghua's robes.

"Xiaobai, it's okay, don't be afraid, I'm right here. I won't let him even touch a hair of yours." he softly whispers into her ears. Her hands were fisted with the fabric of his robs really tightly against his chest. She was overly frightened. Who wouldn't be, when getting forced to do something by an unwanted man and couldn't even escape. All she could think of was to kill herself in the dream over and over again.

This time Donghua puts Fengjiu into a deep sleep enchantment and also enters her dream. Everything played in her mind the same thing as before. Donghua this time shows up much earlier to prevent all those horrible scenes from happening to her. He shows up just when that man was slowly laying down on the bed beside Fengjiu.

"XIAOBAI!" Donghu yells out loud startling the man, causing him to fall down to the floor while waking up Fengjiu. "Dijun!" she screams out loud while sitting up from the bed and extending both her hands out towards Donghua. Donghua quickly runs over to her and on the way, he kicks the man on the ground away from the bed. He quickly embraces her so she won't be scared at all of what is happening. "Dijun, you came for me! You're here to save me!" she cries out while burying her head against his broad wide chest.

"Xiaobai, I'm here now! You don't have to be afraid of anything. No one can hurt you anymore!" he reassures her while rubbing her back. "Dijun, I want to go home! I don't want to be here!" she whines and sobs. "Unmm... Anything you want!" Donghua replies and waves his arm. They immediately teleport to Bihai Cangling's bed chamber. "Xiaobai, we are home! No one can come here and hurt you at all!" he softly whispers into her ears while leaning down towards her head and places a kiss on the top of her head.
