Chapter 34 - Foxes Play, First Blood, Double Kill

As the next few days pass by, much slower for Jiheng in her case. She still hasn't given up on the idea of marrying Donghua. To her Donghua only belongs to her. Only she can match up to the mighty Donghua Dijun. No one else in all of, four seas and eight directions can be better than her. She is the only daughter of the great general Menghao, the saviour of Dijun and the head princess of the Demon realm. No one has a better status than her to suit the role of being Donghua Dijun's wife and TaiChen Palace's Dihou.

She tries all methods that she could ever think of to attract Donghua's attention, but nothing seems to be working for her at all. She has tried acting sick from all the travelling, sick from the sudden change of living in a different place and eating different types of food, even being lost in the big palace then falling into the pond. None of these has ever got his attention, so she thinks, maybe he has seen so many of these tricks in his long life already. She has tried to come up with newer ideas instead but still, nothing seems to work on the cold-hearted god.

Donghua hasn't even laid an eye on her at all ever since she entered this palace. He ends up only sending either Siming or Zhonglin to go take a look at her, just to check up if she is dead or not. Donghua finds all her acts were simply child's play in his eyes. Something that he also had said to Fengjiu once before but he never really meant it when he said it. But this time, these acts of the Demon Princess were seriously much more childish than what Fengjiu had done in those good old days. Every time he thinks back to what she had done then, his lips would automatically curve upwards. All of Fengjiu's acts and sayings are deeply engraved in his mind, heart and soul.

Fengjiu is much younger than this Demon Princess but yet she can be much more mature than Jiheng. Even her silly acts back then, like lying about going to, moon watching at the Zhuxian Terrance, is childish. But Donghua never got mad about it, just worried for her safety and proud of her to have the courage to lie to him in his face. Vice versa, Jiheng pretends to get lost in the palace and falls in the pond, which he can't really tolerate at all. "Stupid woman!" he cursed in his heart after Zhonglin reports this matter to him.

In others' eyes, if both acts are compared, they are both childish and stupid. But in his eyes, it just measured differently because when you actually love that person so much, judgement will change. To Donghua no matter what Fengjiu does, it is the best and what she says is always right. He will support her in any way that he can, the only thing that he will disagree and go against will be anything that affects her health. If he has to say no he will say no, even if that means that it will get Fengjiu unhappy. He will find a way to cheer her up afterwards.

Jiheng has even listened to her mount's idea, trying to find out what the Little Highness likes and dislikes, so she can bribe the Little Highness to be on her side. Little did she know that the baby fox is the same person as Dihou to start off with. She tries to gather as much information on the little fox as possible, hoping there is a possibility that she can use her to win him over. At the same time, Jiheng also keeps asking around the whole TaiChen Palace trying to figure out Dihou's true identity, background, how she became Dihou and where she could run into her in the palace.

A lot of the maids did actually think that Jiheng was a really nice person. Some of them try to help her if she needs help. But all the maids of TaiChen Palaces are not fools either, once she starts asking for information about their Dihou or the Little Highness they all just excuse themselves and walk away. Even if she tries to bribe them with rare treasures they just turn her down. None of them would dare to betray their young sweet Dihou. Even if there is one person that doesn't like Fengjiu they will still not dare to sell her out because the consequence is not worth it.

But luckily everyone loves Fengjiu, because of her arrival everyone is saved from the bratty Princess Zhihe and Princess ZhiYue's tortures. ZhiYue hasn't even shown herself much around TaiChen Palace ever since the trial of Zhihe. As much as she hates Fengjiu, she doesn't dare to do anything because the consequences are really bad as she witnessed or could be worst. Who knows how far can Donghua go just to protect his dear wife. Everyone can tell that Donghua has become a completely different person since Fengjiu barged into his life, heart and claimed his whole being.
