Chapter 11 - Consequences Of Decisions

"Are you serious? I was just joking." ChengYu says. "Yes I am! Why? Is there someone else in your heart now?" he says sourly. "No, but it doesn't matter if there is or not." she quickly says. "You just can't give me another chance?" he asks.

"I just need more time to... to put the pieces back together. For now we just keep being like this, unless you want us to become strangers." she replies. "No no no... Whatever you want to do is fine with me as long as you give us a chance." he replies.

I still can't forgive you for your chosen actions back then. I don't know why you did it and I still don't have the full proper memories of it." she says. "We have all the time in the world. I will prove it to you that I won't ever let you down ever again." he says as they just quietly stare at each other in silence. LianSong took her silence as a yes and kisses her again. She didn't push him away at all but embraces him and deepens the kiss.

After Siming returns to his library he shakes his head at the mess in front of him. "Little highness, little highness, you sure do know how to cause trouble. I think you should change your name to Bai Mowang since you got Dijun backing your every action." he says out loud while continuing to shake his head. As he starts reorganizing all the mortal fate books he realizes that there was one that is missing. The one that was missing belongs to ChengYu when she was still a mortal before ascended to heaven and become an immortal. He has no clue who would take that fate book, but he has suspected that it could have been ChengYu.

Since she was in here helping him earlier she could have seen it and taken it. Also she was in the TaiChen Palace alone for so many days as well. As there is no rush to look for it right now Siming just brushed it off his shoulder and focused on the mess in front of him. With him being away for so many days he still has a lot of fate books to catch up on writing. He quickly reorganized everything and started writing them.

Zhonglin enters the kitchen, shakes his head and sighs at the total wreckage. "So glad that Dijun is busy taking care of the little highness. If he sees this he will definitely be very mad." he sadly says out loud. He starts cleaning away all the damaged serving dishes and bowls as fast as he can so he can quickly prepare some health recuperation meals and medicine for the little highness. Even though the mess originated with her but no one can blame her as it was technically because of Donghua Dijun's stubbornness. Even if it wasn't Dijun's involvement, still with him behind her back, no one dares to blame the little highness either. Others would just have to consider themselves unlucky that they got dragged into the mess.

The next morning Donghua had just fallen asleep right beside Fengjiu on the same bed. He's hugging her tightly so nothing can get past him to hurt her. Not long after she starts to awake, she twitches her nose just like how she does it when she's in her fox form and starts to rub her eyes with her fists. The way she moved in his arm woke him up as well. He stares at her for a few minutes, while she slowly opens her eyes.

"Xiaobai you're finally woke up! How are you feeling? Anywhere feeling uncomfortable?" he asks softly while sitting up leaning over her. Fengjiu stares blankly back at him, blinking a few times looking dumbfounded. "What's wrong?" he asks her again.

"Hummm... Who are you?" she asks without any expression on her face. "Xiao... bai... you don't remember me?" he asks concernedly. At this moment, the last words she said before he woke up from the dream curse flashed into his mind.

"Please forget me... forget about all that I had caused you..." he shakes his head and continues to ponder these thoughts while looking at her. "No, it can't be, no it can't! The curse! The consequence of keeping me safe and breaking the curse! NO... NO... NO! It can't be!" he says in his head. He places a hand on her shoulder and looks straight into her eyes.
