Chapter 37 - Fox Play, Penta & Hexa Kill, Rock Play, Rock Paper Scissors

For the next two days, Jiheng was too busy editing the weapon sketch non-stop to even be thinking of any tricks to play to get Donghua to fall for her. Weaponry is not her specialty at all and the duplicate copy of the scroll was not helping either. It's not just an ordinary scroll that Donghua duplicated. He had his own little revenge plotted into it as well, for making his Xiaobai unhappy. When he said to Fengjiu that it will keep her out of their way for a while, he really meant it.

Donghua has placed an auto failure correction enchantment on it, making it extra hard for her to edit. Each time she gets something correct the sketch will make something else go wrong. Everything is starting to make her go a little crazy. But she can't go asking Donghua for help because that will show she lied. She needs to do a perfect job on this in order to gain the affection of Donghua. This is her only ticket to his heart as she thought.

So she decided to go for a walk to refresh her mind from all the craziness from the scroll. She also hopes that she can find someone on her way, that could possibly help her get through this tough time that she had brought upon herself. During her little walk, she had to be careful not to run into Donghua or Fengjui since she was not allowed to leave her quarters until her edits were completed. All the people that she had passed were just low-ranking guards and maids. None of them were useful to her at all. She needs someone that knows more stuff. Someone that is intelligent and good in weaponry to be precise.

She tried looking for Zhonglin but he was too busy to be entertaining the Demon Princess. After the stupid act that she put up in the main hall two days ago, Zhonglin avoids her at all cost if possible. He doesn't want to have any more misunderstandings between him and Muyun. Since their little peach blossom tree just started to grow blossom buds, he doesn't want the tree to die before any of the buds are fully in bloom. Even when their tree is fully bloomed he still doesn't want it to get wilted.

So she defeatedly returns to her own residence to continue her never-ending edits. She never believed what other immortals said about Donghua Dijun even till now that she has proof right in front of her eyes. She still believes that all these are the doing of the Dihou, bewitching him. She curses Dihou deep down inside of her while she keeps editing the scroll.

"Xiaobai, I all of a sudden want to eat your sorrowless cake. I haven't had it for such a long time now. Like a few hundred years to be exact." Donghua whines like a five years old child while lying in bed and staring at her. "Okay okay, Dijun. I will make some cake for you today, but they aren't going to be sorrowless cakes though. It's not the blooming season for sorrowless flowers and I don't have any dry ones left. Also, I'm out of yushi flower root, east sea rime and zijin honeydew. I can make red bean cake, mung bean cake, chestnut cake, taro cake, peach cake, osmanthus cake, jasmine cake and chrysanthemum cake. A'Li likes those too. I could always make him some as well." she confusingly says while looking in her stash of goods in a pouch on the vanity table.

Donghua gets up and walks over to her then sits next to her. "Xiaobai... Xiaobai... Wifey... wifey... wifey..." he pouts while shaking her arm. "Dijun, but..." she tries to explain but Donghua waves his arm and all the ingredients appear on the table in front of them. Fengjiu looks at all the ingredients on the table with awe. There was a massive pile of each of the ingredients she said she didn't have. She was super surprised that there was a massive pile of zijin honeydew. She never had seen that much before in her long thirty-two thousand years of life.

Fengjiu was only able to get a small amount of the zijin honeydew because it was an ingredient that can cause the one eating it to have illusions. She got a small amount from winning a bet with XieGuchou, Lord of the Underworld. She used most of it during the three years that they were apart. The only time she can see him is when she is sick or heavily drunk sleeping. Other times was when she put some of the zijin honeydew in her meal so it can ease her heart pain. She tried getting more but her friend XieGuchou also got it off of someone else. So she ended up unable to obtain any from all of her sources. But now there is a massive pile that can last her a few decades, right in front of her eyes that she could never imagine.
