Chapter 46 - The Price

"Donghua Dijun arrives!" the guards outside the court hall announce. Donghua slowly strolls in late to the already in-session court meeting. He casually walks up the stairs to his rightful seat while everyone except Haode, stood up to greet him. He slowly pours himself a cup of tea and sips it to see if it's to his liking. "Speak!" he sternly says out loudly.

"Dijun, the other Demon Lords are not accepting the fact that YanChiwu is the one replacing Xuyang Demon Lord. We tried sending Crown Prince Yehua to help him settle the matter at hand but still, things are getting worse. A few days ago the Blood Tear in the Demon Realm started to have some weird activity. I think some rebellions are trying to awaken the Demtress Miao Lou. They might be her followers or worshipers." Haode calmly says but his emotions betrayed him.

Haode may look calm but is not. His stomach had been all tied up for days when he heard the news. He's been waiting for Donghua to show up to court for days. How can he not worry at all? He thinks Donghua won't join in the battle this time since he has a beautiful young Dihou by his side. MoYuan is still recovering from his battle with QingCang. ZheYan has sealed his Fuxi zither underneath Kunlun Mount after Heavenly Father faded into the Realm of Nothingness. BaiZhi is used to not having any trained soldiers in his lands. So he has no one that can go up against Miao Lou except Donghua.

This is why he had asked for the Fox Emperor and BaiYi to be present as well. If Donghua doesn't want to go then the in-laws will somehow force him to. Haode knows how much BaiYi cares about faces and reputations. If everyone thinks his daughter is the cause of Donghua not joining the battle then BaiYi will make Donghua go. Haode still thinks having love is a weakness, women are only good for producing as many offspring as possible and nothing more. Now he thinks he has found Donghua Dijun's weakness, Bai Fengjiu.

Upon hearing that the Blood Tear had some weird activity Donghua's heart could feel a tug and the teacup in his hands started to have many cracks all over. "Is it really coming already? My selfishness of wanting to be with Xiaobai, will bring another war to this peaceful era?" he thought in his mind. Suddenly the sky in the direction of the HuiMing Realm started to cover in black clouds with lightning flashing and thunder crashing. Donghua stands up then quickly then quickly vanishes from the court, leaving everyone shocked.

"What possibly has happened to make Dijun leave so fast?" everyone gossips in the court hall. LianSong and the Fox Emperor know exactly where the storming area is. Haode is now relieved that Donghua has gone to deal with the trouble and a smile finally cracks on his face. LianSong sees how useless his father is and silently shakes his head. "When did Lord Father become this weak and useless? He used to be brave and strong. Is this still my Lord Father that I used to know?" LianSong ponders in his head.

Donghua appears inside the cave that Miao Lou is sealed in. He sees that Miao Lou has woken up with an evil smile spread across her face, from one ear to another. She is trying her hardest to break loose from all the vines that bind her to the fuling tree. "Ha ha ha ha! Donghua, how nice of you to come and welcome my return! I told you, you can't seal me here for long. At any moment now, I will be free from your seal." she evilly laughs out while pulling her two arms together.

"Do you think I will let your dream come true?" he coldly says then extends one arm, spinning his palm clockwise with a backflip then pushes forward and starts pulsing energy into the seal. He starts using fifty percent of his remaining power to form another seal on top of the last seal he has cast. He calls upon more of the sacred fuling flower to purify the three poisons within the realm.

The last time he was here to strengthen the seal was three years ago when they broke out of the Dream Realm that they were trapped in. It was his payback to her for hurting his Xiaobai. In just three years, he didn't realize that she had gotten stronger. "Someone must have been helping her. Otherwise, how can she recover her power this fast!" he thought in his mind as he continued to pulse more magic into the new seal.
