Chapter 39 - A Wedding, Matchmaking, Rock Killing

As the early dawn's sunlight shines through the window of Fengjiu's chamber, Donghua was already up and getting ready to head out to meet the wedding escorting percussion team. Donghua didn't want to waste any time and energy so he stayed overnight in the fox den with his baby fox as promised. Watching her sleep brought a lot of peace and comfort to his heart. Listening to her heartbeats helps him fall asleep better. For some reason in his heart, he is afraid if he leaves her for even the shortest time something could happen to her. He can't let anything happen to her or he doesn't know what he will do to anyone or to the four seas and eight directions.

He knows one day that secret of his name still on the stupid rock that he's been hiding from her will somehow reveal. When she finds out she will be more heartbroken than the time she found out he supposedly erased his name from it. He can't imagine what she will do when she finds out that secret because the last time she surprised him by cutting off her tail. The name he despises the most is right beside his and he doesn't want her to find out who's name is besides his either because she dislikes her as well. If it was anyone else he could simply ignore but why does it have to be the daughter of one, that he owes a life favour to? He needs to settle the favour in a smart way so she can't find a way back, to hurt his baby fox.

Fengjiu is not his destined one and he is not hers either. The last time he went against Fate and Destiny he lost ninety percent of his cultivation and magic. She ends up cutting off her tail and badly injured multiple times, which a few of those times, she almost lost her life. He will not let what he is afraid of, become reality so he will stick by her side as much as possible. If he has to, he will confine the two of them in Bihai Cangling just for the sake of protecting her.

At first, Fengjiu was skeptical of his idea, but she was happy that she didn't have to be separated from him. Having him sleeping by her side brings her peace and comfort as well. She has no worries for him because he is the strongest god that there is in history that she can remember from all her study. She has no secrets hiding from him either. So simply just having him there by her side is enough to make her fall into a deep sleep.

Donghua sits down on the edge of the bed, right beside her, carefully sweeps away the hair that has fallen over her eyes from her bad sleeping habits. He runs his knuckles gently down the side of her cheek and he bends over to place a kiss on her birthmark. He really doesn't want to disturb her peaceful sleeping, when he sees this cute sleeping face of hers. Her hands are not behaving just like her sleeping habits. Her hands kept looking for that familiar warm broad wide chest and the fine, silky silver white hair. Her hands won't stop until she finds what she wants. Finally, Donghua can't stand letting her furrow her brows and forehead so he passes a few strands of his hair into her hand.

As her hands find what she wants she happily falls back to her deep sleep again. Donghua waves his hand and a brand new outfit for Fengjiu appears in a tray on the vanity table. With another wave of his hand, his outfit changes into a new one that matches her new outfit. As he continues sitting on the edge of the bed, he lightly pats her arm to wake her up, but she doesn't like it at all. "Stop it! Go... away... don't bother... me... let... me sleep..." she mumbles out. Donghua laughs out loud at her silliness.

"Xiaobai... Xiaobai... Xiaobai... it's time to get up." he softly whispers, this time he's not going to fool around like yesterday morning. She furrows her brows again and she grips on to his hair tighter and tighter like someone is about to snatch it away. Donghua changes his tactics and tries again. "Xiaobai... your... father is here!" he softly but sternly says. Fengjiu quickly sits up from hearing her father is here.

"Fengjiu greets father..." she quickly but sleepish says while rubbing her eyes and looking all around for her dad. "Dijun! You lied again! My dad is not here! I'm still tired! I want to sleep a little bit more!" she snorts out while falling back onto the bed. "I've been trying to wake you up. It's time to get up and get ready for the wedding. It is almost time and they will be here very soon. I already have your full outfit ready for you on the vanity table." he softly says.
