"Eren," I looked over at my brother. "Are we going to die?"

Eren lays down in his bed, shackled arms at his side. He sighs, staring up at the ceiling. I do the same, waiting for him to answer.

"I don't know," his voice soft and unsure. "I mean technically we already did."

I let out a soft laugh;

"True. But I mean for real. I keep coming close to death and it never gets easier. During our battles, I've watched so many people get eaten or crushed to death. I don't want to go like that."

I turn onto my side, holding my arms to my chest, the cold metal of the shackles could be felt through my shirt.

"You won't," he turns to look at me. Both of us laying on our sides, staring at each other. "I'm going to protect you."

I smile... knowing he can't always be there for me. If we hadn't had this ability inside of us, he'd be dead and so would I.

"Sophie..." I watch as a tear slides down his cheek. "We'll get through this... together... okay?"

I have a flash back of Eren's Titan form standing above me, grabbing my left leg and tearing it off with his teeth. He then proceeds to snap off my right leg as well. My body shudders at the memory. I choose not to bring it up right now.

"I know Eren," I smile hesitantly. "I believe in you."

"Do you think everyone is okay? Armin and Mikasa?"

"Yeah, they're fine. Mikasa won't die unless you do. She has to protect you, remember?" I laugh softly. "I'm more worried about us..."

"Yeah, not a lot of people are going to be happy about our new found abilities. There's no way we can just join the Scouts without people revolting."

"I know. Do you think they're going to let us live? Or will they kill us out of fear?" I stare at my hands. "I guess going out this way will be better than getting eaten. I don't want to go through that again..."

The Titan grabs my body, breaking some bones and squeezing the air out of me. I can't move. The Titan brings me into its mouth. I see Jean, he's reaching out for me, but I can't seem to grab his hand. The Titans jaw closes and I slide down its throat.

"Me either..." Eren sits up and looks at the guards who are posted outside of our cell. "Excuse me, I gotta pee."

"No, you went earlier." The man snaps.

"Can I have some water?" I ask them.

"Hey!" The other guard grabs my attention and Eren and I both look at him. "You're not getting a thing, got it? You damn monsters."

Erens mouth falls open, staring wide eyed at the guard who just spoke. I sit up as well and cross my legs, getting more comfortable.

"Well these monsters took back Wall Rose for you. Care to be a little more grateful?"

"Shut up you stupid kid," he glares at me.

I lean back against the wooden headboard, huffing in annoyance. We've been in here for what seems like forever. I don't even know what day it is. How long has it even been since we plugged the hole?

I pick at my nails; they have dirt under them, but my clothes are clean. Who changed me out of my uniform? Better not have been some pervy soldier or I'll have come choice words.

I relax my head against the brick wall, thinking about my friends and the life outside of this small cell that I share with my brother.

Is everyone okay? I know I saw Jean, Marco, and Connie just before we sealed the hole, so I'm confident they're still alive. Same goes for Armin and Mikasa. But what about Sasha? Christa and Ymir? Are Reiner, Annie, and Bertolt okay as well?
