You're Not Alone

We left base and have been working on our training. The whole Team Levi. Most of us are sitting in a circle together, while Levi and Ouro stand behind us.

Gunther has a map pulled out, explaining to Eren and I what our position will be in the formation Erwin has formed for our mission.

"Our Special Ops squad'll be positioned here, on standby. Behind the center rank."

"So we'll be pretty far back then," I point out.

"It's the safest position in the formation," Gunther states. " The supply wagons don't even get such fine treatment. Our goal this time around is to simply leave, then come back. Today's expedition will serve as sort of a test run. To see if we've got a shot at getting you to all the way to Shiganshina."

"Understood," Eren looks at him. "Either way, we still don't really know how to use our ability or if we can even control it."

"You guys. Do you understand what the commander was asking you about back then?" Gunther asks us.

Both Eren and I think back to the day Erwin asked us who we thought the real enemy was... the day those two Titans were killed.

"What did he mean by that? What do you guys think?" Eren asks.

"Not a clue," Eld mutters and Petra just shakes her head in agreement.

"Well, if I told you that I knew what he meant, I'd be lying to you," Ouro stands by his horse a little father back then us. "That said, I-"

"It's Entirely feasible, that this operation has an alternate goal. And yet, the commander has decided it's best to withhold it from the rank and file. If that's the case, leaving and coming back is all we need to concern ourselves with. Have faith in the commander." Gunther stands as he rolls the map up.

"I will," I look up at him from where I'm sitting next to Eren on the grass.

"Today's training has concluded. Return to base." Gunther orders.

We hop on our horses and take off back to HQ. When we get back, Eren and I have to help clean the horse stalls. Basically we do all the dirty work for everyone.

Guess that's what happens when you get labeled a monster... I fill my bucket up with horse crap, as does Eren and we walk out the entrance to stand with Ouro.

"Sophie," Eren breathes out. "Look."

In front of us are the new Scout recruits. Right away I spot Armins blonde hair, next to him is Mikasa. We look at Ouro as he sips his drink.

"Ouro," I let out an excited breath. "Can we be excused for a minute to talk to our friends?"

"Sure," he grumbles at us. "Just don't take too long."

With those words I take off and catch up with them, Eren right behind me. He yells their names and right away the two turn around.

"Eren! Sophie!" Mikasa's eyes widen.

"Man, are we glad to see you guys!" Eren smiles.
