"This may be a special night, but we don't need the public knowing our plans. So behave like the disciplined soldiers you are!" Harold, a scout under Hange's command shouts at the head of the dining hall to all of us.

"What? No way..." Connie gasps, looking at the plate of meat in the center of our table. "Is that...? It is. It's meat!"

"Am I dreaming?" Sasha grabs her head and squeezes it between her hands.

Jean is sitting beside me and we both lift our eyes from the glorious looking meat to each other's eyes. His gold ones are lit up in joy, knowing we're being treated to rare meat. It's been years since we had any.

"All right. Here's to the re-taking of Wall Maria," Harold lifts his cup. "A toast!"

Everyone erupts into cheers and screams and I just stay seated, staring at the table. They all are so excited for this dinner, but I can't help but realize I'm about to head home for the first time since I was nine. I'm almost sixteen now and I didn't join the cadets until I turned twelve, so it's been almost seven years since my home was destroyed.

"Hey," Jean shakes my shoulder. "You okay?"

"Yeah. Just thinking about how long it's been since I've been back home," I fold my hands in my lap and rub my palm religiously. Looks like I'm nervous.

"I understand," he drops his hand and smiles sadly at me. "But let's just enjoy tonight and not worry about the future. This is one last night where we know all of us are alive and happy."

I look around, watching the soldiers argue over what size piece of meat is fair and others fighting over if they should get seconds. Some are even saying they're more deserving of extra meat because they've killed more Titans.

But the worst of them all is my best friend Sasha. She has the entire chunk of meat in her hands and it's chomping down on it while Connie has her in a choke hold.

"Damnit!" Jean stands and goes to help Connie. "What the hell do you think you're doing, potato girl? No way are we gonna let you pull this shit!"

"Drop the meat, Sasha!" Connie begs, tears brimming his eyes. "Come on, I really don't wanna have to kill you."

"You can't eat the whole thing alone, you pig!" Jean rips the meat from her grasp.

Sasha let's out a scream of agony, wanting the meat back. She then bites down, taking hold of Jeans hand in between her teeth.

"You're eating me! My hand! My hand!" Jean screams.

I laugh, watching the savages fight. Looks like Sasha can't be controlled. She's always been a sucker for meat, it's insane how she gets when it's around.

"Sasha! That meat is Jean!" Connie shouts. "We don't eat our friends, okay?"

"What, does the Scout Regiment never get any meat?" Marlo nonchalantly takes a bite of meat. "Really? That's just sad-"

His words are cut off by Sasha's fist driving into his face. My eyes widen, seeing her actually harm a friend. Poor Marlo's nose is now gushing blood. Looks like she's completely lost her mind. Granted, Marlo just basically told us he always got meat while in the MP. I would've punched him too.

"Connie, would you just knock her out already?" Mikasa asks coldly.

Sasha reaches out and punches our raven haired friend in the chest, still acting like a rabid animal. Connie pulls on her even harder, to keep her from attacking anyone else.

"I'm trying! It's like her minds shut down, but she's still moving somehow!" Connie gasps, struggling to keep our friend contained.

I stand from my spot and round the corner to the other side of the table where Connie is holding Sasha. He moves out of the way and I take hold of the back of Sasha's dress, pulling her to the ground.
