(NOT EDITED)

~four days before orphans arrive~

"Sophie," Levi approaches me as I finishing digging up the ground to plant some seeds on the walkway into the dining hall. "How are you feeling today?"

"Well I'm only passing out every few days instead of every few hours," I smile. "Progress."

"But you're feeling well enough to be gardening?" He crosses his arms, his eyes narrowed.

"Yes," I laugh. "Thanks dad."

Levi rolls his eyes at my joke and then crouches to the ground, getting on his knees beside me. I watch as he rolls up his sleeves and takes a handful of seeds, spreading them around in the freshly tossed dirt.

"I can do this on my own," I spread my own seeds. "Don't want the captain getting his hands dirty with grunt work."

"It's no problem," he mutters. "I'll do this and you can go get changed into training clothes. Now that you can't shift I want you to start practicing your ODM skills with the new recruits."

"It's not like I forgot it. I'll be fine."

"No," he faces me. "This is an order. We'll be heading out in thirty minutes."

I stand, not wanting to argue with him when I know I'll lose the battle. I make my way back to my room and change into my uniform.

The door opens behind me as I grab my harness from the top of my dresser. I turn around and find Jean walking in with his hand behind his back.

"Sorry I forgot to knock," he smiles sheepishly. "I got you these."

Jean extends his arm out, a bouquet of flowers in his hand. I look up at him, taken-aback by this surprise. I take the flowers in my hand and bring them up to my nose, inhaling the sweet aroma.

"Do you know what each of these flowers mean?" He steps closer to me.

I shake my a head and girly smile reaching my lips. Everyday he finds another way to make me the happiest I've ever been.

"These white ones here... they're Yarrows. These mean 'everlasting love' in the language of flowers..." he has a small blush on his cheeks and his gaze flickers from mine to the flowers.

"And these ones?" I smell the blue flowers.

"Salvia... the blue ones mean 'thinking of you'," he moves some of the hairs framing my face to behind my ear. "I want you to know that you're always on my mind and I'm never going to stop loving you."

"Jean..." I whisper, not able to think of any words to say.

He's my soulmate...

It may of taken me a while to figure out my feelings for him, but now that I know what's going on inside my heart, I can know for sure he's my one true love.

"You're such a sweetheart," I nibble at my bottom lip and set the bouquet on my dresser. "Thank you, Jean."

"Anything for you," he pokes my nose. "What are you up to today?"
