Chapter 30 (TW)

Binnie used all of her strength to kick the nearest lever. No, it wasn't the spikes-on-floor lever. No, not the arrow-shooting one either. It wasn't the dagger-shooting one or the spike-expanding one.

It was the lever that made the spiked ceilings come down.

"No!" Yubin saw this, and tried her best to switch the lever the other way to prevent the spikes from coming into contact with the prisoners. YooA hurriedly freed Sera, who had a small, bleeding scratch on her neck from a spike. Yubin saw Gahyeon, who was trying to squat as low as possible to avoid the spikes.

"Gahyeon, it's going to be okay! YooA, quick! I can't hold on much longer!" Yubin struggled with Binnie, who started to use all of her power from her entire body. Yes, she was handcuffed, but she still had fingers.

YooA freed Gahyeon next, who had several bleeding scratches on her back that tore through her dress. She stumbled out of the cell in a rush after YooA cut her chains and tried to assist Yubin, but the spikes had caused her some back pain and YooA had to carry her.

Binnie started pressing her back onto the lever, causing the spiked ceilings to go down even further. YooA ran to the nearest cell and dragged Jimin out after cutting his chains, whose right arm was dripping with fresh blood.

"Thank you," he managed to breathe out. His neck and shoulder were badly damaged and he needed to be carried. Unfortunately, YooA was already carrying a weak Gahyeon, and he had to stay on the floor.

YooA ran to JinE's cell, where the last prisoner was. However, the spikes were dangerously low. JinE's head was already partially stabbed and was bleeding heavily.

"Advisor JinE..." YooA called out to JinE. "Hang in there!"

Binnie gained more power as the spikes went even lower and pierced JinE's neck and shoulders.

"No, it's okay, Grand Master... leave me, I will go with no regrets..." JinE said while smiling with an apologetic expression on her face.

"JinE, don't think like that! I'm coming!" YooA used the keys to open JinE's cell.

"Tell Her Majesty that I have enjoyed serving her... tell her that I was right... she should've listened... Bury me at..." Blood came out of JinE's mouth as she stopped breathing when Binnie took a deep breath and used all of her remaining strength to fully switch the lever.

"No!" YooA cried out as she saw JinE's body stop moving as the spikes penetrated it. Binnie cackled at the sight and finally allowed Yubin to switch the lever back, causing the spikes to go back up where they were supposed to be.

"Look what you've done, you monster..." Yubin slapped Binnie on the face, which caused Binnie's smile to widen even more. "You'll certainly pay for this!"

"I'd rather die than get turned in to those stupid authorities!" Binnie used her free fingers to grab Yubin's sword off the wall and used it to slit her neck. Binnie's dead body fell onto the desk, blood still seeping out of her neck.

"Damn it," Yubin grabbed her sword, cleaned it, and picked up Gahyeon from YooA's arms. "Gahyeon, it's me..."

"Yubin you came..." Gahyeon weakly wrapped her arms around Yubin's neck and kissed her. YooA picked up Jimin, Sera wrapped some cloth around her wound, and they all walked out of the secret dungeon together.

JinE was buried right next to Seunghee in the closest royal garden to Hyojung's sleeping quarters. Gahyeon, Sera, and Jimin were both taken to the castle hospital for treatment. Binnie's body was also burned, and authors of all sorts made stories about her treachery, such as The Acts of Royal Assistant Binnie and Deceived: How Assistant Binnie Tried to Ruin Her Kingdom.

Hyojung replaced Binnie with Jiho. YooA and the Miracle Kingdom Knight Commanders examined all of Binnie's documents that were kept inside her secret dungeon. They figured out that Binnie wanted to make Miracle Kingdom an empire. She wanted to overthrow all the kingdoms who supported Yuqi in an act of revenge, yet she also wanted to take their resources. How ironic.

Two days later

Yubin and YooA were standing next to JinE and Seunghee's graves while watching the sun set. JinE's grave said, "Shin Hyejin (JinE), an advisor who only wished for the best. Rest in peace, knowing that you have served your kingdom very well." Seunghee's grave said, "Hyun Seunghee, an advisor who was always Queen Hyojung's. Rest in peace and you may watch over us with your loving eyes."

"Thank you for all that you have done, Grand Master Yubin," YooA bowed to Yubin in gratitude.

"No problem. I'm glad that our two kingdoms are maintaining a good friendship," Yubin replied.

"Best of wishes to you and Gahyeon!"

"You too! I hope Mimi will do well after all that has happened! Hopefully we can meet again, since Gahyeon has recovered and it is time for us to head back to Insomnia Kingdom."

"I hope we can meet again, too! You guys have really helped us and saved us from a lot of trouble. That reminds me, there is something I need to tell you that I discovered recently... you might want to tell Queen Bora this, too..."

"Huh? What's this about?"

"When I was absent from Miracle Kingdom, I have discovered many things. Song Yuqi told me many things about your kingdom. She told me about the assassins who killed Queen Bora's parents."

"Oh my! This seems really important!"

"It is! Only the royal family knows that it exists, apparently, but I guess Queen Bora didn't get to know..."

"Didn't know what?"

"The bunker in the woods..."
