Chapter 24

"You're pretty."

Yubin cursed internally once Arin called Gahyeon that. What are her motives? she thought.

"Ah, thanks!" Gahyeon replied, blushing. She hadn't been called that for a long time besides when she was with Handong and Yubin. Arin smiled and took Gahyeon's hand in hers.

Now that's the final straw! Yubin thought. She immediately took Gahyeon's other hand. "Gahyeonie, I saw some chocolate donuts over there. Wanna get some with me?"

"Sure! Talk later, Arin?" Gahyeon answered.

"Yeah! Anytime!" she replied.

Yubin hurriedly walked over to the snack booth with Gahyeon. She was still full from dinner and actually didn't want any donuts- she just needed an excuse to get Gahyeon away from Arin. She could sense Arin's eyes on Gahyeon as they went farther away from her. When Gahyeon finished her donut, however, she left Yubin to go talk to Arin.

Meanwhile, Bora and Hyojung were busy chitchatting about their queenly duties and kingdoms. Insomnia Kingdom and Miracle Kingdom had so much in common, but they also had their differences. Bora learned so many things about Hyojung's kingdom. They got so deep in their conversations and talked on and on, causing Siyeon to feel rather lonely.

Minji and Yoohyeon were playing Blackjack with YooA and Mimi. They looked fairly happy until YooA had an ace-king combo and took $500 from Minji. The rest of Hyojung's advisors were busy drinking to their hearts' contents.

Yubin walked over to Siyeon, noticing that she was in a similar situation. "Hello, Siyeon!"

"Oh! Grand Master!" Siyeon replied, giving a small bow.

"No need to be formal! At this party, we're friends! Besides, I could be your cousin-in-law, you know." Yubin raised her eyebrows, causing Siyeon to blush at the thought of marrying Bora. "Feeling a little lonely?"

"Yeah..." Siyeon glanced at Hyojung and Bora.

Yubin smiled and whispered to Siyeon. "Me too."

The two looked over at Arin and Gahyeon. They were laughing and having a good time, especially Arin.

"Shall we observe them?" Siyeon asked.

"Why not. Tell you what, I don't trust that Arin girl." Yubin whispered.

"I can see why."

"Well, well, well, look who's getting jealous!" Handong appeared. Shocked by the sudden appearance of their friend, Siyeon and Yubin flinched.

"Hey! I'm not jealous! I'm just... concerned!" Yubin playfully smacked her friend.

"Uh-huh. Totally believing that." Handong replied with a chuckle. "Woah, look! Arin put her hand on Gahyeon's knee!"

"Huh?!?" Yubin immediately spun back around and saw Arin. She felt like steam was coming out of her ears. Siyeon and Handong gulped, both wondering what Yubin was going to do.

"Where do you think you're touching Gahyeon?" Yubin stormed over to Arin and brushed her hand off Gahyeon's knee.

"Yubin?" Gahyeon said.

"Jeez, relax! It was just on the knee! We're just having a good time telling funny stories. Why'd you have to disturb us like that?" Arin struck back.

This made Yubin's blood boil. Nobody would dare to go against her, or question her.

"Don't you know who I am? I am the Grand Master! Nobody disrespects me like that while trying to hit on my girlfriend!" Yubin stepped closer to Arin.

"Well, I'm sorry! I didn't mean it, gosh!" Arin replied.

"Guys! Stop it!" Gahyeon broke the two apart. "Yubin, it's alright! I'm sure she's well aware of our relationship!"

Seeing Gahyeon frustrated had an effect on Yubin. "I'm sorry, Gahyeonie."

"It's okay, Yubin."

Yubin walked away with a dejected expression on her face. Noticing, Handong and Siyeon tried to comfort her.

"Awww. You know, I don't trust Arin either. She's carrying on like nothing happened. How impudent!" Handong scoffed.

"I never thought that she would want to question you like that! You're literally the Grand Master!" Siyeon shot a glare at Arin, who's hand was back on Gahyeon's knee in no time. However, she was glad when Gahyeon brushed it off.

"I'm gonna be so glad when she returns to Miracle Kingdom," Yubin muttered.

Binnie was silently watching Hyojung and Bora as they talked about their two kingdoms. She was supposed to be drinking with Seunghee and Jiho, but she had other plans. She was the one who had planned the entire trip to Insomnia Kingdom. It would benefit both lands AND her personal desires.

She had been Hyojung's advisor ever since she became queen. Because of this, Hyojung trusted Binnie with all her life, which was unfortunately, a bad idea. Binnie acted like Hyojung's best friend and her loyal assistant on the outside. In the inside, however, she longed to make the throne hers.

Binnie had many thoughts inside her mind. What time should I kill Hyojung and get what I have wanted for several years? The plan worked. We are far from home, so I can pin the blame on any Insomnia Kingdom castle worker. Nobody would suspect me, Queen Hyojung's trusted and beloved assistant, as her murderer. Then I could just make up her last words, which would be for me to take her place as queen. It sounds perfect! Because Bora is also supplying us with so much money, I can finally make Miracle Kingdom become Miracle EMPIRE! I will be more powerful than the Neverlands. I will have all the power I ever wanted! It sounds too easy, though...

She decided to wait a few more days, perhaps even a full week, to make her move. She had nobody on her side- no men, no bounty hunters- she was all alone. She felt like she was disadvantaged, but remembered that when you're alone, nobody can stop you. Bounty hunters and secret soldiers can always betray you or get tortured enough to spit out valuable information. Binnie was glad that nobody suspected her. But was that true?

Siyeon was smart enough to know that Hyojung was a really nice person. Unlike Arin, Hyojung wasn't trying to be in a romantic relationship with Bora. She knew that Siyeon was her girlfriend, and had no intention of interfering. She shifted her focus from Arin to Binnie. Noticing that Binnie's eyes were scanning the area for watchful eyes, Siyeon immediately turned to look back at Bora, pretending to be jealous. That Binnie is certainly up to something, she thought. If I tell Bora, she would certainly tell Hyojung, who wouldn't agree with me since Binnie is her advisor. However, I have another option.

Siyeon knew Binnie was watching Bora and Hyojung very closely after she figured that nobody noticed her. (She was wrong.) Siyeon saw that Binnie didn't have anything hidden in her pockets and decided that she was probably devising her evil plan. I'm so glad that Yubin suspects Arin. I can tell her about Binnie, and she would probably understand, Siyeon thought. She was about to whisper to Yubin when she felt someone tap her shoulder.

"You're Siyeon, right?" Binnie asked.
